Daytime Emmys Head to Vegas, CBS {AOL TV}

May 8th 2010 5:27PM The move makes lots of sense. Everything from the Academy Of Country Music Awards, NASCAR and NHL post-season awards, Miss USA and other similar events have made a nice splash by holding the event in Las Vegas.

The fans get the feeling that they can actually get involved (and plan a trip around it). Las Vegas is much cheaper to visit than Los Angeles or New York City for most people, and the Las Vegas area generally really embraces and plays up awards shows held here.

Twenty bucks could get you a sweet Vegas hotel upgrade {Gadling}

Jan 12th 2008 8:00PM This is a long-time Las Vegas practice and successful fairly often. It is well worth a try, because the room (or view) you'll get is more than a $20 per night upgrade and most people stay in Las Vegas more tha one night.

The key is to put your ID and credit card on the check-in couner with the bill folded under them (but the denomination visible) and immediatly ask them if their is a possibility to be placed in one of their nicer room. (They will understand what you are doing/saying).

For Bellagio, Venetian and Wynn Las Vegas you may want to use a $50 bill.

You really have nothing to lose. If they decline, they aren't rejecting you. They simply aren't in a position to help you out (hotel is full, perhaps someone in upper management is cracking down a bit on the practice).

Vegas is about taking a couple of risks. This is probably one of the better ones in town because you have nothing to lose!

Spanish Towers Condo Project in Las Vegas {Luxist}

Feb 3rd 2006 4:49PM Projects like this one, as well as The Curve ( http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2005/Mar-12-Sat-2005/business/787800.html ) have nothing in common with the over-priced condo projects on and near The Strip, where one is paying $500,000 or more for basically a hotel room with a full kitchen.

The west side of Las Vegas has always been "the place" to live, and the new condos and mixed use developments in the area of "the curve" of the Beltway in the southwest area of Las Vegas is close enough to The Strip and the airport but absolutely in the "suburbs" and removed from the tourists areas.
