Glenn Beck Boycott: Censorship or Good Citizenship? {Politics Daily}
Aug 19th 2009 9:04PM "...that FEMA was secretly setting up concentration camps ( Beck actually went out of his way to disprove this rumor." So I guess the Glen Beck Show video clips showing him making this statement are false! In which case he should file a lawsuit against the channels that showed these clips.
The list of things that Beck has said on his show are despicable and when they are pointed out on Liberal shows Beck denies having said them, that is, until the liberal shows broadcast the clips of him saying them, in which he then says they are taken out of context or some other excuse he often decries the liberals for using when a conservative broadcasts the liberal saying something despicable. Take for example, Palin, when it was broadcast of her saying that the Obama Health Bill would institute "Death panels". She denied saying this until her words were shown on liberal shows, then she says they were taken out of context, and then she said it again. Beck is the same way, but loonier and more despicable.
He has even called for the death of the President, called the Pres. a probable racist who has a hidden hate of white people (despite the fact that the President's mother is white and whites have been his friends throughout his life).
Advertisers, throughout US history have pulled their advertising dollars when they felt that a newspaper, magazine, radio program, TV program and even internet site had crossed a line in the advertiser's eyes. Beck is crossing these lines in an increasing frequency and the smaller advertisers will follow the larger ones. Fox's owner has often said he would switch his network's format to liberal in a second if he begins to believe that that is where the higher advertising money was. Beck is now walking a tight line because of the losses in money he is causing Fox and they may drop him soon if the bleeding keeps going.
Lifelong Republican who has switched to Independent because of my party straying away from the mainstream of the party & straying towards the zealot or lunatic fringe. The GOP needs to change course soon or they might go the way of the Whigs.

Aug 4th 2009 11:47AM As a wartime retired vet I am not ok with 'enhanced' techniques - actually torture under international law and the Geneva Convention. Allowing our forces, CIA & such to use these techniques violates the US Constitution. 'spikeritz' says he is a vet, yet he is ok with our gov't violating the very US Constitution all soldiers take an oath to uphold and protect. Apparently spikeritz does not take his oath seriously. Throughout virtually every war we have fought our enemy has openly violated such rules of war and humanity - much like criminals openly flaunt the law. But we must demand that our military and gov't stand firm in obeying the rules of war, the numerous treaties, and thus, our Constitution - just as the police are expected to follow the rules imposed upon them by the law. Any American who thinks otherwise has allowed a part of themselves to become traiterous to the USA and our Constitution.

Is Karl Rove in Trouble? {Politics Daily}
Aug 1st 2009 9:57PM Rove, GW Bush, Cheney, Rumsfelt, etc. - all possible criminals who stood in the most powerful place of the world. Yes, the Bush era has passed, but our system of justice, the US Constitution, numerous Treaties the USA has signed/ratified and the trust of the world demand that we hold accountible any of the above people for any crimes they committed or allowed to be committed on their watch. If we, the citizens of the USA, do not hold our elected and appointed gov't officials to the rule of law, then there is no reason to have those laws or even our Constitution. We have often demanded that justice be taken against the president, dictator, etc. of other nations - we must hold ourselve up to the same demands. If that means an ex-president or ex-vice president goes to prison, then that is what should happen. NO PERSON in the USA is above the law and we must prove that.
As for Rove, give him absolut immunity for his testimony, if and only if he truthfully answers all questions he is asked. He is a minor player since he was not in the position to legally order things to be done. If given this immunity he must testify, he cannot legally claim the 5th.
Tim McGraw Ejects Another Rowdy Fan {The Boot}
Aug 1st 2009 9:26PM Without knowing all the facts it can be that it was the woman who was unruley and the man was reacting to her. Yes, far too many men do not know how to be a gentleman, but far too many women also do not know how to be a lady. Today women have become just as dangerous, just as unruley, just as profane and just as drunk as men.
As for evicting a ticket paying fan - not cool or possibly not even legit. If the fan can show he was not violating any of the concert hall rules the promoters, the concert hall owners and the star could be sued and would most likely lose. Such suits are usually settled out of court so that the star can avoid the bad publicity involved.
Sarah Palin's Higher Calling {Politics Daily}
Jul 5th 2009 3:37PM Alaska has been debt free and sending out checks to it's residents since Sarah Palin was still in diapers and learning to walk. A rock as the governor would still result in a debt free and check issuing Alaska. Alaska is this way because of it's oil wealth and will continue to be this way as long as we and Canada must rely on oil. She is the governor of a state that has less people and less cars, roads, etc. than a large number of cities in the US. Though she is a governor she governs over less problems than most large city mayors govern over.
Palin might be a very smart individual, but as a national office seeker she was a very dumb politician. She even angered and embarrassed the very person/people who chose her as the VP running mate, greatly hurting the GOP's chances in the 2008 elections. Since then she has continued to step before the public and press, making error after error and causing further embarrassment to the GOP and even the state legislature of Alaska. She dearly needs to follow thru with this resignation and then to stay out of politics above the city/town or county level.
Palin E-Mails Suggest Tension With McCain Staffers {Politics Daily}
Jul 3rd 2009 1:29PM The Dems will not destroy the USA no more than the Repubs will. Our Founding Fathers knew that a multi-party political system would prevent any one party from destroying our Representative Republic form of government. It is a fact that any one political party, no matter it's good intentions at the beginning, will become corrupt if in power for too long - this is historical fact for over 5000 years. Thus, our two+ party system creating a checks-&-balances on each other.

Jun 23rd 2009 5:58PM These cameras DO NOT take away anyone's privacy. They are installed in public places where people have surrendered part of their privacy rights in order to walk the streets, drive on public roads, shop at local stores (where they are usually taped by store security cameras), etc. The purpose of these cameras is to help solve crime and to allert the proper authorities to traffic congestion, street light outages, etc.
Pitbull Punches Fan Onstage for 'Making it Rain' {The Boombox}
Jun 1st 2009 12:43PM Pit Bull is an idiot and, if the fan files charges, shud be arrested for assault. Additionally, the security personnel at the concert can also be charged with abetting the assault because they forcibly ejected the fan instead of calling for medical aid and calling the police. True, the fan was disruptive and shud not have gone one stage earlier, but this time Pit Bull deliberately asked him up on stage and even assisted him up. This shows a possible premeditation on Pit Bull's part, changing the simple assault to felony assault. And as to PB's statement that insulting someone is grounds for hitting him - WRONG! In every state & by federal law, as well as thousands of court decisions - no amount of insults, short of actually assaulting or attempting to insult the person being insulted, is grounds for physical retaliation. However, we all know that this will all be settled out of court by a large sum of money being given to the assaulted fan in return for him not filing charges or sueing.
Popular Pakistani Singer Allegedly Murdered by Her Family {Spinner}
May 6th 2009 12:03PM Pakistan has a law banning honor killings,k but it is difficult to enforse in some regions. Honor killings has nothing to do with Islam and everything to do with individual cultural areas. Most Muslim do not commit or condone honor killings. Thus, it is unfair to say that it is a Muslim thing. Many non-Muslim cultures around the world have or have had honor killings. There have even been such in parts of the USA, usually in the parts that are seperated by nature from most of what we consider normal society. Many of these areas of the USA are strongly Christian, yet they believe or used to believe in honor killings. Look at the long feud of the Hatfields and McCoys. It involved murdering of neighbors for revenge or family honor. It also involved the killings of several of their own family members for associating with the other family. Family honor had always been a strong binding factor throughout history and many areas of the world still follow it.

Apr 12th 2009 2:52PM Mike is absolutely correct. Look at the hundreds of thousands of people that penicilin has saved. Yet there have been hundreds who died from it before it was determined that allergies to it exist. My father was allergic to penicilin & had to have other, less effective antibiotics. I am not allergic and penicilin has saved my life twice.
No medication, even over the counter, even aspirin, is 100% safe or 100% effective. There are those who have allergies, those who have adverse reactions and those who it does nothing at all - but the vast majority of patients benefit from the prescribed drugs.
It takes the drug companies millions and sometimes billions of dollars to produce a medicin the first time. After a period of time the drug may become available to be produced by other companies as a generic. Drug companies often have researchers who go to remote and desolate areas of the world - jungles of New Guinea or Africa or S. America, deserts, high mountains, deep ocean, etc. - to discover plant extracts, animal extracts, etc. that then are investigated in the lab to see if the suspected chemical does have a medically beneficial use. Then they must develop a way to produce it and put it into pill or liquid form. They must do extensive animal testing with it and then seek permission for several tests on human volunteers. After years of development and testing they then must get permission from several government agencies just to proceed to getting FDA permission to package and sell it. The government decides whether it will be a controlled or uncontrolled substance.
That is why any new drug is initially very expensive!
I do not now, nor have ever worked for a drug company or distributer. I, however, have the brains and knowhow to actually conduct independent research before opening my mouth on a subject. CC & Cheryl seem to lack this ability.
