Southern Sweet Tea {AOL Food Blog}
Jul 4th 2007 7:20PM I agree with comment number 11 made by Delsie. I have lived in North Carolina all of my life and I love sweet tea, but I like do not like it real sweet. Like Delsie, I have never heard of making a sugar syrup to use for making tea. I have made "sun tea" as described in comment number 9 by Jenn, but I usually make a gallon of tea by bringing a pot of water to boiling temperature. When it has began to boil good, then I remove it from the burner and steep 3 or 4 family size or 9 to 12 regular size tea bags in it for 5 minutes. The amount of bags depends on your taste. I use from 1 to 1 and 3/4 cups of sugar in the pitcher. This also depends on your taste. Then I pour the pot of tea over the sugar. I stir the hot tea in the sugar. Then I add cold water from the faucette and continue to stir. After sugar is dissolved, refrigerate and serve over a glass of ice. Note: I use a porcelain pot instead of metal for better tasting tea.
Jordan's Divorce Settlement Could Break Records {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Apr 15th 2007 9:37AM I find it very interesting that many of you are making statements that you are totally ignorant about. Every state has different divorce laws. In North Carolina, the settlement is 50/50, but when it comes to ALIMONY, it is awarded to the spouse that has the lesser amount of income in the marriage and it has nothing to do with INFIDELITY. Although a spouse may also be awarded ALIMONY if INFIDELITY is proven, but this is the lesser of the two ways that ALIMONY is awarded in the state of North Carolina. It is an automatic state law that went into effect in 1995 related to the spouse's incomes that the majority of divorce cases result in one of the spouse's being awarded ALIMONY. As for you people that support the practice of infidelity in a marriage, obviously you have never been TRULY in love with anyone. Therefore, you do not know the pain felt when you discover your spouse has cheated on you. As for your comments about the children getting older and being able to deal with their parent's divorce better, it is still their parents and they still feel deep pain. Every child wants their parents together.....no matter how old they are! I also find it very interesting that you know so much about Michael and Juanita Jordan's private life. Do you really know these things as PURE FACT or is it just NASTY RUMORS or could it be your own SPECULATION???
