Toby Keith Causes Controversy in Norway {The Boot}
Dec 15th 2009 7:13AM Thank you Toby for being true to both yourself and America. I'm tired of other countries expecting us to "bow down" to them!! I support our troops 100%...My son will leave for his 3rd tour by March and I was raised in an Army household so I am totally behind them!!!
Don't you dare: French parents criticize Renault for naming new electric car Zoé {Autoblog Green}
Dec 8th 2009 6:28AM I really don't understand what the problem is except some people take some things too literal. Maybe, just maybe and I'm NOT saying this to be funny or mean but some where down the line, someone is going to make a cruel joke to a female named Zoe and tell her they "would like to take a ride with her" and I think you know what I mean by that. I know that is sick but kids, especially other teens can be cruel to other teens. The thing is even with other names other sick jokes can be made too.
Couple arrested after refusing to pay tip at Pennsylvania pub {Daily Finance}
Nov 21st 2009 8:06AM I too have disputed a tip for bad service BUT I had complained to the manager and he said no tip was necessary to just write his name in on my recipt where the tip goes. There was another waitess that was running her behind off and was even picking up our waitress slack. Our food took an hour but it was ours that told us it was the other one who was working hard. When we paid for our meal we did just as the manager told us to do...write his name in BUT for the young lady who was working so hard and even helped us....we went up and told her even though she was not our server she did more for us than ours and we tipped her. She thanked us and apolized for the other girl and said please don't let one bad night keep us from coming back...we did go back and by then...our server had been fired due to too many complaints. We had excellent service that night!!
Smack! Injured kid sues school after dodgeball accident {WalletPop}
Nov 18th 2009 7:44AM I played dodgeball as a kid and I really stunk at the game BUT I didn't cry or pout about it. Our P.E. teacher had rules and those rule were to be followed!! If the big strong jocks threw too hard like a baseball, as someone else mentioned, they were out. It comes down to the teachers doing their jobs and doing it right!! I understand the school paying to have his work redone and they might want to consider not counting him absent for the day to have the work done but that is all they should do. In 6th grade we were playing tennis and there were several courts all beside each other. I was grabbing a ball that went out of bounds and another student on the court beside the one I was on went out of bounds to hit a ball back in. I got hit smack in the mouth with his tennis rack. My front two bottom teeth went thru my lip. I got a couple of stitches as was fine. Everyone knew it was an accident and treated it as one. I didn't get mad at him and my parents didn't sue his family or the school either. Since I came from a military family my medical was covered without having to pay anything but even if we would have had to pay my parents would have paid the co-pay and went on because you know why???........it was an ACCIDENT!!! When I came back to school the kid felt really bad about what had happened and apoligized like he should have....my words was thank you and don't worry about it because it was an accident. Some of these parents now a days all they think about is sueing...get over yourselves and let your kids grow up!!
Miss Homeless Beauty Pageant Winner Gets Rent-Free Year {Lemondrop}
Oct 14th 2009 7:15AM I don't think its a bad idea. If she can get herself and her family off the streets and into housing that they can afford during this time and do something with her life then why not??? Heck if she can do it before the years time maybe she will let one of the other families move in her rent free apartment. Sometimes all a person needs is a break, what they do with that break is up to them. I wish her good luck in the future!!
Spotlight on Jonathan McCoy: Committed to Eliminating the 'N' Word' {BV Black Spin}
Sep 30th 2009 7:36AM You are exactly right!!..Look it up in the dictionary...This is how I raised my children and we are white. My father was a career Army man. He worked side by side and was high ranking in the army. At one time if he or anyone in our family would have used the "n" word he could have been demoted. We was raised that it doesn't matter the color of a persons skin but what is inside. There are black, white, hispantic, asia, etc that ARE the TRUE defination of of what a "N" it!! I believe a lot of the blame goes to the rappers...go ahead and rip into me...I'm entitled to my beliefs.
When a rebate isn't a rebate -- it's a ripoff {WalletPop}
Sep 29th 2009 7:00AM This is also the same thing that Verizon does and we too got stuck with a little extra money on each card. We had 3 cards when we bought new phones this year.
Boy's Family Hoping for Minor Miracle {Fanhouse Main}
Sep 29th 2009 6:49AM I too pray this little boy has a full recovery and all involved may be at peace again! I also must add that my hat is off to the family who's first thought wasn't to try to sue. Also hats off to the player for doing the right thing and checking in with the family. I know he feels guilty but this is a true accident! I'm willing to bet he comes to see the family against the advice of his or the teams attorney!
