Getting Out of Quicksand {Gadling}

Dec 16th 2006 7:35AM I was in what you would call "quick mud" the soft oozy stuff you find in swamps (Everglades or Louisiana Bayou). When you walk thru certain areas, you can literally get stuck and start to sink gradually, the more you try to pull out of the muck, the deeper in you seem to get. I have lost my boots trying to pull my foot free from that muck and on some occassions, you can sink up to your waist, and begin to wonder if you will get out! Im sure quicksand is the same thing, only with a more sandy bottom.
