Breaking the Binkie Habit {ParentDish}

Another study links weight loss to calorie restriction, not exercise {That's Fit}

Feb 22nd 2007 5:30PM I think one important thing to remember is that exercise is not only a tool for weight loss. It also promotes a healthy cardiovascular system which reduces the risk of heart disease, heart attack and stroke. Exercise is a healthy part of life, even if this one study shows that you can lose weight without it.

Men and depression: suffering silently {That's Fit}

Feb 22nd 2007 7:57AM Not being happy all the time does not equal depression. Depression is a clinical illness with many signs and symptoms. Having a bad day and feeling sad or angry does not mean you are depressed. Depression is "a psychoneurotic or psychotic disorder marked especially by sadness, inactivity, difficulty in thinking and concentration, a significant increase or decrease in appetite and time spent sleeping, feelings of dejection and hopelessness, and sometimes suicidal tendencies." Most clinicians believe these feelings need to continue for two weeks or more to call it "depression."
