Would you watch TV on iTunes for $30 a month? {TV Squad}

Nov 3rd 2009 2:21PM Anyone with bandwith caps is sure going to get a big surprise with a subscription to this service.

I have a few other questions people aren't asking:
(1) Does this include access to a full back library of a shows? If so that would sure hurt DVD sales I would think (which has been the saving grace of the DVD/TV industry)

(2) Do I have to maintain an annual subscription? If not, what is to stop me from subscribing for one month (taking a month of work lol) and watching the full seasons of all my shows.

Microsoft warns court of Word-related armageddon {Download Squad}

Aug 19th 2009 3:23PM Funny post. But this would be disruptive. I work in a field with lots of word collaborative work. We recently moved everyone to the xml standard and going back would be a pain (as may getting new copies of word with xml if we do not want to go back).

Re: Todd. If you really think changing anything on a production line costs $0.00 (even to a free product) you've obviously never worked in this business. Lets not forget these companies also deal to primarily business clients who require certain software specs.

I tried a year of Open Office in a Word world and it was a nightmare. And my wife threatened to divorce me then secretly installed M$ Office when I was on vacation lol

Google makes 500,000 free eBooks available for Sony Reader {Download Squad}

Mar 19th 2009 4:26PM Still a good deal though as they used to charge a fee for a lot of these classic books. Maybe I'll be more well read now as a result of this :)

Amazon agrees to cripple Kindle 2 {Download Squad}

Mar 1st 2009 8:38PM Good grief. Do they really think the awful speech engine in this will hinder audio books that much? So if this is a violation of copyright what about Kurzweil which is as close to real human as you get from a text-2-speech program that is used by thousands upon thousands of students with reading disabilities?

'Til Death gets revived for another season {TV Squad}

Jan 14th 2009 8:31PM A definitely weaker season so far (though I love me some chicken and waffles :) .. but I love it just the same. I'm glad it's coming back.

Sony email: PS3 a great value, Xbox "a burden on the wallet" {Joystiq Xbox}

Jan 9th 2009 2:23PM I'm an owner of all 3 systems and have to admit the PS3 is a tighter package. Each certainly has it's pluses but I'm not pleased about all the extra $$ I had to drum out for my 360.

* With my PS3 I much prefer not paying for online gaming (though historically the XBOX's online gaming was much better this is starting to fade away as the PS3 much improves in this area.

* The machine is a LOT quieter

* In the HD/BluRay days it was much nicer not having the extra clutter from the HD drive

* The wireless is a pain in the arse on 360. I went with a cheaper solution for my 360 (Pelican) and it's a pain to reconfigure if you make any wifi changes.

* I like that the store is $$'s and not stupid points

* I prefer being able to go with a wide range of blutooth headsets other than brutally expensive secondary options for 360 (unless I want something equally as crappy as the 360 factory set)

For the 360:

* Graphics are better on multi system titles

* The online gaming is more highly populated (unfortunately a lot of tweens come with it though)

* System links better with my home servers

* The achievement system is still better than Sony's trophies (and every game has them)

All and all both systems have their plus/minues. *I* think my PS3 is a better value but to each their own.

As for my Wii... at least I can play with my wife and parents lol
