20 Biggest Workplace Anxiety Triggers {AOL Jobs}
Oct 29th 2010 11:26AM I worked @ a job where my boss would ask me why I worked there when my husband made so much money in Iraq. I felt offended. Another time he asked me how much I made an hour, I told him it was none of his business. THen there was a time he went to his boss and told him I only worked 50% of the time. I felt very offended! He was never there, so I asked the person who was in charge when he was gone. The man told me no that I was always doing something and working. If you were so much as a minute late coming back from lunch he would chew you out. Yet he would not come back from lunch and when he did, he would have his lunch with him and sit at his desk and eat. Since we worked in an Army motorpool we had to obey the Army and government regulations. The only place you could smoke was outside the fence of the motorpool. Since we were at the end of the buildins we were far away from the gate. My boss would smoke his little cigars around inside the building. I told the Warrant Officer in charge of the motor pool and he would show up trying to catch him smoking. Then one day I saw one of the mechanics smoking while working on up on a grader. I told him that he should not be doing that. He put it out. Everytime something did not suit my boss he would chew me out and write me up for it. Then one day he told me to have one of the two men that had forklift license to put the old tires on my flatbed truck so that I could take them to recycling on Monday. Even though my job description said I was to operate forklifts he would not train me on that particular forklift. He told me that he had two people and that was enough. I told the two that I need the tires loaded. Neither one of them did it and come Monday morning they were not on the truck and my boss wrote me up and then I had to go see the bigger boss and I was then fired. I was upset that I was treated that way, but I was also in another sense relieved that I did not have to put up with him. I really liked my job and knew how to do my job he just made my job misable. I was the only female in the shop and the only one that worked for a different company. So, even when you work for a government contractor it is not always a nice place to be. The company I worked for would not stand up for me at all. They never even came to my job site to check on me or anything. I was like an invisible employee.
SmackDown: Should a Kid Be Allowed to Scream at a Restaurant? {ParentDish}
Sep 10th 2010 5:23PM My husband and I raised 4 children and raised two of our grandchildren when the were very small. We taught them mannners and how to eat at the table before they ever went out to a nice restaurant. When they did they would eat and be very well behaved and only once did we have an issue and I got her up and took her to the bathroom before she could annoy people. In the bathroom made her stand in the corner. A lady came in and made the comment that someone had been a bad girl. After the lady left I asked my granddaughter was she ready to go back to the table and behave herself and finish her meal. She said yes and never had any more trouble. I never had to yell at her or spank her just took her away to the bathroom. But all my children know the importance of good manners and I instilled into their children also and I am very proud of them and my grandchildren. They know how to get along with others and play nicely!!
Confessions of a hotel maid - read if you dare! {Gadling}
Jan 23rd 2009 11:10PM I worked at one hotel and one of the housekeepers called me to a room and between the mattress and box springs were syringes with needles. The guest that had been staying there for nearly a month worked for a moving company. From the guest card I got his address and I mailed him his stuff back to him. Needless to say his wife got to the mail first. She called me and told me that her husband did not do drugs and I told her then it must have been the young lady that was staying in the room with him. Either way they were not there before he stayed there. She proceded to cuss me out and I hung up on her. Not only did my head housekeeper inspected rooms but so would I and they never knew which ones were going to be inspected. I would not put up with dirt and filth. Even the window tracks would be cleaned. Mattresses were turned and flipped regularly. We would even keep cards on people that if they did anything wrong to our rooms their name would be added to the box and also comments on the card and on our computer system. They would be allowed to stay there any longer.
Soldier's Cell Phone Calls Parents During Battle in Afghanistan {Switched}
May 10th 2008 11:23PM I belief in this war because of 911. I want it to stay there and not come back here. I lost a friend in the pentagon and he was getting ready to retire. Wanted to travel with his wife and visit his kids and grandkids. So, please if you can't write anything intelligent don't show the world just how stupid you really are. It makes the rest of us have to work harder to keep the appearance that we really are a smart nation. I'm just glad we have enough money put away to move to another country if Hillary or Obama become president. I am all for a female president as long as it is not her. We don't need Clinton's in the white house again! Obama is a closet Muslim and is trying so hard to hide it.
As for me I worked at a place for 4 years that send people to Iraq and Afghanistan and places like that. They had to pull me out of operations and then supply because I was having nightmares of some of these people coming home in body bags because they thought they did not have to listen or go through the training that we were trying to teach them to help them stay alive. Those that return listened!!! We even processed civilians and I even saw some of them return!
In the future think before you post comments that make you look stupid. It not only damages your intelligence but it also makes and arse of yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has the end of Wal-Mart's layaway program affected you? {BloggingStocks}
Dec 5th 2006 2:50PM Another thing is the gift cards. I have a collection of about a dozen of them and they don't work. I received them as gifts and as safety awards and only one of them works. I am so glad I never spend money on any of them. They just steal peoples money and give nothing in return.
Has the end of Wal-Mart's layaway program affected you? {BloggingStocks}
Dec 5th 2006 2:42PM I use Layaway so that I don't have to pay the interest charges on the credit cards. I have gotten rid of almost all my credit cards except two which I use for trips and when I don't have funds for an emergency. I have used layaway all my life. I see things I want and if I did not put them on layaway they would not be there when I could return with the funds to pay cash for them. I have WalMart Stock and as soon as it hits my sell price I will sell it and never buy WalMart again. I will just go back to KMart, they are closer to my home anyway!
