Duke Snider, Dodgers Hall of Famer, Dies at 84 {Fanhouse MLB Blog}

Feb 27th 2011 6:58PM I remember "Duke Snyder Lanes" bowling alley in Fallbrook in the early-mid 60s.....

Lindsay Lohan to Spend the Holidays in Rehab {PopEater}

Oct 24th 2010 1:22PM The problem is for recovery to take effect, she needs to WANT to be clean and sober. She hasn't hit a "bottom" that will let her see the light. For many, that bottom is death. But, also for recovery to take effect, "you have to be willing to let someone die".

What else is in your tuna can? Group urges boycott {WalletPop}

Sep 2nd 2010 5:21PM Trolling and jack-poling for tuna is the only way to go. I've watched seiners chase schools of bluefin and yellowfin for days and decimate miles of ocean. I fish on sportboats, and where we may take 30 (1500 pounds) one seiner will take 30 tons. Go back to the way tuna was fished years ago - jack pole. It will be more expensive, but then you can go catch some for yourself too.

Lindsay Lohan's Plan to Stay Out of Jail {PopEater}

Jul 12th 2010 4:05PM Time for this loser to do her time. She's not above the law.

Republicans Place Risky Bet on 1980 Economics to Win in 2010 {Politics Daily}

May 26th 2010 8:10AM Reagan's de-regulations and "trickle-down" is why we're in this mess today. We need breaks for SMALL businesses, not for the huge corporations. And something my mama taught me - that I'm responsible to help those who are less fortunate, smaller, and weaker than I am. Seems like the republicans think it's their responsibility to crush them and make them a sacrifice to big business.

Immigration Reform: First Secure Border, Says Sen. Lindsey Graham {Politics Daily}

Apr 27th 2010 6:18PM That's what used to happen, Cutie. They've taken over construction jobs in California. Construction used to be an alternative to college for many high school students. One could make a decent and honest living by learning the trades. Now, it's almost impossible to work construction. I've been a superintendent for many years, and generally, 90% of the workers on a jobsite don't speak English; 5% barely do, and the remaining 5% are usually the natural-born US citizens.

Brown Has Small Lead Over Whitman in California Governor Race {Politics Daily}

Apr 21st 2010 5:46PM Jerry had outlandish ideas - like balancing the budget (long before it was the mantra of all politicians) and campaign reform by limiting the contributions he took. He also wouldn't live in the governer's mansion because he thought it a waste of tax money. He also drove his own compact car to work, rather than a limo, or a Hummer. What we don't need is another ultra-rich repub/CEO who only wants more power, and to give more power to her corporate buddies. We need a candidate for the common people, not the .5% of the population that controls all the money. Go Jerry!

Obama Recess Appointments: 15 Names, Including Controversial Labor Lawyer {Politics Daily}

Mar 28th 2010 6:50AM This country was founded by liberals. If these teabag-right wing-dittohead-whack jobs were around then, they'd want us to remain loyal subjects of King George. The republican machine relies on an uneducated populace so the Karl Roves can use their propoganda to control them. They don't want anyone to learn to think for themselves. We've just taken a huge step backward with the teabagger violence and name calling. Bush made several appointments and decisions by recess appointment. Where was the conservative outrage then? Unregulated capitalism eats itself due to greed and corruption. I'd much rather see more regulation of the health care, pharmaceutical, food, and energy corporations than just meekly giving them more of my hard-earned money while watching them take over my country. Power to the people, not the corporations and politicians who only care about feeding at the government trough.

Ethics Panel Rejects Complaint Against Seven Lawmakers in Earmark Probe {Politics Daily}

Feb 27th 2010 11:18AM We should fire all congressmen - Democrat and Republican - and elect those who want to serve the people, and not feed from the public trough. However, with the recent Supreme Court ruling stating that corporations are people, we'll have even more corporatism. The corporations rule the US through their "contributions". We need total campaign finance reform. The US is an oligarchy - ruled by the rich and priveleged, not the people. And we are heading toward corporatism and fascism, ruled by the rich corporations. American politicians - the best money can buy
