December 21, 2012: An Introduction To The End Of The World {Gadling}

Dec 19th 2012 12:18PM I used to be really scared of it too. The more articles I read though, the more I realize that it is silly. I honestly think that the Mayans believed it was special because it is the completion of a cycle...the precession of equinox. And the beginning of winter, of course. Doomsday just got thrown in the mix by planet x believers (who said it was going to happen in 2003 at first) and other paranoid people and scam artist. The world will end one day but it will be unexpected. Thank God. I'd rather not know.
