Scientists don't dispute their is a God, but Catholics who claim the Vatican supports creationism against established science are liars.
The Vatican clearly and defintively siad, "creationism is neither science or rleigion. religionits who claim otherwise are just speaking gibberish in an effort to share their state of irreducible perplexity regarding science and reason.

Creationists are anti science dogmatic fundamentalists who insist on Biblical inerrancy, right up to the point of challenging the most basic of scientific laws and theories. The sciences attacked by creationists are, biology, geology, antropology, radiometry, physics, chemistry, plate tectonics, stratigraphy, etc., etc.etc etc etc........
The Trust's decision to put creationist fraud in a publicly funded exhibit was wrong. Their decsion to remove it was,,, late. Radiometric age dating is certainly NOT controversial. If it is, then nuclear power plants , nuclear energy, fusion, fission, the sun and everything else mankind has learned about nuclear physics, is wrong. Categorically. This of course is more creationist nonsense.
The fact is creationism is not science, has been decried by hundreds of Nobel laureates, the Vatican, most denominational church councils, any accreditted science organization or journal, educators, and the courts. If a creationist attacks a scientific finding, you can bet, they have no credible alternative to replace it with. Thats also why they attack evolution, a theory supported by MOUNTAINS of research. Next time you meet a creationist making ridiculous claims, ask him or her to write a research paper on their thoughts and submit it to a SCIENCE journal. They'll shut up fast. Creationists can't get their work published because its not science. They offer no ideas, only attacks on science, coupled with strange ideas linked to Biblical interpretation, usually of the Old Testament.
Creationists fall into the following categories. a. mentally ill, b. ignorant. c. stupid d. liars. Unfortuantely, there is no other explanation for why a human being would claim science , proven tested, logical reasonable science, on all fronts , is incorrect if they think scripture disagrees with the scientific finding. They do that in Iran probably too. Science is often wrong, but its based on logic not dogma. Creationism fails on all counts with regards to scientific rigor.
Creationists, begone. Christianity has no room for those who can't reconcile their faith with science. The Dark Ages are yours to keep.!!

Its not either or. One canbe a Christian and a logical reasonable science literate human. Church leaders who say otherwise are damaging faith, the people they say that to, and education.
