Great tip! And glad to hear that you had a successful vacation. My wife and I just finished a long vacation in Europe and Morocco. Though we also met up with a lot of friends and hit up a lot of places, our rule is always to just "go and be there" and then talk to the people around us (#2 rule: stay in b&b's!). So many interesting people in the world!

NB: Then again, you're not remembering your FS security training! Talking to strangers and mooching rides is a security risk...worth taking.
