A Traveler In The Foreign Service: A Guys Road Trip To Transylvania {Gadling}

Jan 24th 2013 5:15PM I got to visit another part of Transylvania last year: the area centered in Brasov. It was a beautiful town and part of the country. (I also visited Iasi, in NE Romania, but that is not Transylvania over there.) I enjoyed my time in Romania and wrote a bit about it (http://ilivetotravel.me) though I still have not gotten to write about Brasov proper. Sibiu looks beautiful if it is the one in the photo where you see a church and the mountains behind (a caption would be helpful).

Aircraft Boarding Challenges Bring Innovative Designs {Gadling}

Sep 26th 2012 3:11PM Interesting concept for sure. Questions about the comfort of the seat, though, would make me think twice before accepting that seat if all others have been taken first...

5 Secret Tech-Savvy Tips For Traveling Abroad {Gadling}

Aug 13th 2012 11:10AM Great tips and comments. On the adapter, words to the wise: while the adapter obviously has to match the country's plug design (2 prong, 3 prong, etc.), it is important to know that the adapter itself ALSO has to fit the hole in the wall itself. I have experienced myself and have seen fellow travelers experience bringing the right plug to match the country but then the adapter itself doesn't fit the hole! I always bring two differently designed adapters to minimize this risk. For example, some adapters are designed to plug in our power cord on the side, yet if the hole in the wall is deep enough, you will not be able to plug anything on the side of the adapter. In another design, the bulky adapter is made for the typical round hole in the outlet but that adapter may not work for some outlets I have seen (yet, it was the right plug for the country).
