Another unruly family kicked off plane {Gadling}

Jul 8th 2008 5:38PM Years ago I was on a flight from Atlanta to Chicago. The kid sitting behind me persisted in kicking the back of my seat. I finally flagged down an air hostess who made the mother have him sit in her lap on the other side of the aisle. Of course, the mother sat and glared at me for the rest of the trip LOL

Companies that vanished: Woolworth's, the granddaddy of the five-and-dimes {BloggingStocks}

Jun 6th 2008 7:45AM The article fails to include nationally known Richman Bros. whose president was quietly looting company's goods and selling them at cheap prices through his church (such a good Christian eh?).

Then Woolworths was hit with a huge stockholder lawsuit which brought the company down leaving only Foot Locker stock distributed to FWW shareholders at a fraction of what stockholders' paid for the FWW stock.

I know....I worked for Richman Bros and paid over $18 a share for FWW stock thru the company employee stock purchase plan only to receive shares worth barely $11/share.

Why are Finnish kids so smart? {ParentDish}

Mar 5th 2008 8:35AM By the time I was 3 I was reading, thanks to my mother and newspaper headlines. My German born uncles started school at age 3..one became an inventor. I started my kids being responsible for one dinner a week and even taught the boys how to sew and knit. Teaching my kids to be responsible I felt was one of my parental responsibilities. My mother insisted that we be early or ontime but NEVER, EVER LATE!

I agree that many parents don't bother to teach kids responsibility allowing them to use restaurants as their playgrounds endangering wait staff and other patrons! When I admonished one boy who had kicked a BALL under our table that this was Not a Playground (!), his father came over to our table and tried to terrorize me using foul language...no wonder his kids were such brats! Shortly after that confrontation, they family left and the wait staff came over and thanked me for standing up to the kids and father because the wait staff would be blamed if hot food or beverages were spilled on patrons even if the kids knocked them down!!! Insanity!! If my kids even attempted such nonsense they would have been taken to the car and would forego the meal!!!

Stores use sonic sounds to chase away children {ParentDish}

Feb 16th 2008 2:16PM Check out BBC news website...you see stuff about gangs of kids attacking other kids and adults. Go back and see how many people these kids have maimed or killed!

Woman files $54m lawsuit against Best Buy for losing laptop {Engadget}

Feb 14th 2008 7:08PM Excuse me...most companies keep customer goods secured...is BestBuys too cheap to buy a set of lockers and locks/keys? I don't blame this lady one bit...tax returns, etc. And why didn't the geek squad (my puter tech is way better then any of those ejits)offer to pull the hard drive even if it cost her a few bucks. For all we know there may be sensitive diplomatic (read the article again) data on that laptop. For BB to lose a laptop is inexcusible...to offer her less than her laptop cost in ridiculous. Go get them Miss..and continue to represent yourself!!

My biggest complaint about BB is no equipment instore for disabled customers!

Multi-Tasking Food Tips {AOL Food Blog}

Jan 25th 2008 4:22PM My hair stylist told me that he uses mayonaise mixed with a tiny bit of blue food coloring on hair that is dry and brittle during the winter. The egg and oils in the mayonaise is what does the job. I jsut buy a small jar of mayo and slather it into my hair, cover with a shower cap for about and hour then shampoo. My hair is soft, supple and shiny, oh and you can forget the blue dye.

Is Bud Selig Going to Have to Choke a Wife? {Fanhouse MLB Blog}

Jan 21st 2008 6:21AM Having been an abused spouse, I do not find Mr. Selig's comment at all funny....he needs to apologise to all abused spouses!!!! He's only perpetuating the myth that it's ok to abuse yer spouse!!!

What's the dirtiest hotel in the U.S.? It has company {Gadling}

Jan 16th 2008 4:15PM Add the Highland Inn in Atlanta to the list...uneven floors, dripping faucets, dirty carpets and some rooms so small they are wall to wall furniture with hardly and walking space! I had an medical accident and requested clean sheets...never got them! Plus the blanket on the bed was threadbare all for over $100 a night!
