Weird monument in Wales has interesting history {Gadling}
Dec 7th 2011 1:02PM The Boll Weevil Monument in Enterprise Alabama. It sits in the middle of Main St. It is the only monument ever erected to an agricultural pest. The history behind it is when the boll weevil devstated the coton crop in the deep South, the farmers were forced to plant a different crop-- peanuts.
