Galley Gossip: Flight attendant haunted layover hotel ghost stories (and a haunted plane!) {Gadling}

Nov 2nd 2011 12:30PM Ghosts definitely do exist! My hometown in Michigan was originally settled back in approximately 1828 and was one of the stopping points for the underground railroad. There are many houses in town that have had numerous ghost sightings and paranormal activity occurring within them according to firsthand accounts of my sibling's friends, etc. Also, there is an extremely old cemetery in town and back in the late 90s a tombstone started glowing after is was accidentally broken. There was never any scientific evidence found as to why the tombstone would have started glowing.

The town I live in now in Virginia also has a notable/famous ghost occupying the quilt museum downtown which was once the house of a prominent man and his family who took in civil war soldiers to nurse them back to health. The ghost, seen by many people, is of one such young soldier who died at that residence.

Video of the Day - Paraglider collides with vulture {Gadling}

Nov 1st 2011 10:13PM I understand your suspicions, especially with videos nowadays, but this type of collision with an vulture would be extremely hard and most likely impossible to stage. Many paragliders/extreme athletes tend to record their adventures to look at/share later and it seems the camera was looking where the extremely worried paraglider would be looking at those particular times. This vulture was definitely a wild animal and acted as such. Thank goodness neither of them were harmed.

Video: Kayaker has rare encounter with a blue whale {Gadling}

Nov 1st 2011 10:05PM How amazing it is when humans and wildlife can peacefully coexist with one another! The kayaker was doing no harm to the whale and it didn't seem to mind being in such close proximity to him. I'm sure if the whale minded it would have dove or evaded the kayaker with no problems. Such a gentle giant! :-)
