Meghan McCain's Today Show 'Gaffe' {Politics Daily}
Sep 10th 2008 10:28AM What? How is picking on that comment not fair??? Whenever all the republicans do is pick on the few mess ups that Obama has made. Everyone makes mistakes!
I say anyone who puts themselves out there in the media to talk about this election is fair game for nit picking, and Meghan McCain putting herself out there is her own fault, so she better be prepared to take the criticism. Her comment is entirely insensitive.
Pink cancer hair student suspended {ParentDish}
Aug 23rd 2008 12:46PM I remember whenever I was in the 7th and 8th grade. At one point, I had hair with blue streaks in it, and my friends had different colors as well. We were all suspended... We went to the school board to petition for it, and we actually got the rule taken out of the student hand book. Our grounds were that every page in the hand book, and every administrator at the school encourages us to express ourselves in our own way, but when we did that all they did was suspend us. I never got a single comment on my hair from any kid in my classes, other than a few girls saying "Hey, I like your hair."
Rules like this, frankly, piss me off. Kids can't dye their hair anymore, but they can go around school dressing like Paris Hilton and flirting with teachers. America has a grand society.
Superman eyes: TSA's device to see through clothes in an airport near you {Gadling}
Jun 8th 2008 12:06PM I totally agree. The last time I was at an airport I was directed to go through a metal detector with my belt on several times AFTER I told them that I had a belt on and asked if I should take it off. Then after that, I was running far behind my group because of the delay at the metal detector and then when we got to where they scan our carry ons. I put my bag down on the table and started to walk on, but the woman running the machine grabbed me by the arm and yelled at me to put my bag on the conveyor myself or I wouldn't have a carry on bag.
I have never been treated like that in my life. To say the least I asked for a manager on duty, and he was no more help!
Hot Seat: Sympathy for Clinton? {Politics Daily}
Jun 4th 2008 6:00PM If you morons paid attention in your high school Government class, you would all understand why it's important for the people to go out at vote and what the purpose of the electoral college is. Really, go read a book!
Circuit City Botches GPS Install, $12k in Damages, Won't Pay Up {Switched.com}
Mar 31st 2008 11:01PM J. Brian Thompson, absolutely no Circuit City employees are hired under commission. They only get a raise of up to a dollar a year, and this is not based on sales. Don't base a whole company off of one employee. The fact that they don't pay for the damages is inexcusable, considering their firedog technicians are supposedly trained and insured. Those of you talking about horrible customer service, I'd like to hear some of your situations. Most customers come in and expect the world from the employees because they didn't read the return policy right (which is on the back of every receipt) or their problems simply can not be handled within the store any longer. There are those few employees that are real asses, don't get me wrong, but a lot of people are just spoiled and think they deserve to be waited on hand and foot, which is so not the case for ANYONE. Not to mention, some customers are just rude from the get-go. By no means am I taking up for this employee or the fact that they are not giving the customer compensation... which I highly doubt is the situation. There are several steps into getting large amounts of money like that. It has to go through corporate processes that take a while considering they have to investigate it all. Why can't people just be more patient?
School Bus Brawl Tape {AOL Video Blog}
Mar 2nd 2008 10:04PM PS.... Kids shouldn't get phones of their own until they are mature enough to drive on their own! What do they need them for until then? All it is, is another expense! I got my phone at 15, but my father had a bad heart and I was constantly taking him on long drives to special hospitals
School Bus Brawl Tape {AOL Video Blog}
Mar 2nd 2008 9:37PM I'm an 18 year old still in high school, and I have to deal with snotty little twits like this one every day. I NEVER did anything like that, and seeing someone act like that is absolutely ridiculous. The girl obviously has a problem with authority, and the bus driver was just doing what any driver would do to a teenager trying to get off the bus, considering that's WAY against the rules. How would the mother feel if she had just let her daughter out on a random street and she got picked up by a not so kind host? The bus driver would be in a lot more trouble than she is now for this trivial deal.
Speaking of the mother, what a dumb***! She thinks they are a bit "one sided" even though they are accusing both involved? On top of that, her daughter obviously attempted to get to something on the drivers side, invading the bus drivers personal space and violating safety codes. The mother is obviously insecure about her abilities to raise a child, as she should be.
Thumbs up to the bus drivers daughter, that 15 year old got what was coming to her, and I think she should take her on again! Teenage angst is so overrated, but eyeliner has nothing to do with it, D. Michael
Myths About Microwave Cooking {That's Fit}
Jun 25th 2007 12:15AM Molecular structures are not changed by the electromagnetic waves coming from a microwave.
Germany did not create the microwave during WWII. Percy Spencer designed the unit for food after going to a facility where they built microwave generators for radar and noticed that a candy bar in his coat pocket had been completely melted after standing in front of these generators. The first microwave for home use came out in 1967 with a selling price of $495. Yes, I know this has NOTHING to do with the article.
The energy coming from your microwave will not hurt your brain. We've got thick skulls, though I would not recommend talking on a cell phone or holding other devices that contain some sort of magnetic in them, as the waves are attracted to the ferris metal and can give you pretty bad head aches.
If you're really that worried, go ahead and stay out of the kitchen while you're cooking something in the microwave, don't use a remote control and don't ever go to the doctor to get an x-ray. And while we're at it, you might as well cut out wireless internet and cellular phones as well... because we ALL know that those give you cancer (sarcasm). You might as well not even eat the food that the microwave warmed up considering the peice of left over chicken probably has a tumor now just from the waves being put directly into it.
Ridiculous.
Starbucks and God don't mix for one customer {BloggingStocks}
May 17th 2007 2:29PM I'm a devout Catholic, and I'm pretty young (17), so my views may be a bit more liberal than most, but I agree with most of the people here. Miss Incano needs to wake up and smell the stench of America today... we're not all of the same religion, nor do we have to be; the first amendment states that. I see that too many people today think too hard. Why not take it simply and optimistically into your own beliefs? The quote could have easily been turned around to fit a Catholic's lifestyle. And secondly, why should you care what other people say? Take your nose somewhere else and leave it out of others business. You don't see many Athiests crying about what's on the side of a freakin' cup, do you?
Pet-Powered Paper Shredder {Switched.com}
Apr 14th 2007 10:58AM I think it's quite nifty. It benefits us AND the hamster considering the little furball gets to make his own carpet. Maybe he feels good about doing something for himself and making something, you know, a sense of accomplishment?
