Mar 15th 2012 12:40PM Fascinating! I was in Paraguay not too long ago and went on an expedition to find a tribe living in the forests. They weren't uncontacted but they had gone back to living the traditional way. There's a lot to be said for a life away from the modern madness.

Oct 12th 2011 8:24PM I always feel a bit dirty going to 'tourist attractions' that are essentially big 'advertisements'. My feeling is that these things should have a cultural or historical relevance - not just being about trying to get more customers...
Sep 17th 2011 7:27PM I was at The Great Wall a couple of weeks ago and the saddest thing is to see what the pace of China's growth has done to it. Even a few hours out of Beijing, the whole area is covered in smog from the city's pollution. Compared to the beautiful blue skies I saw there a few years ago, everything is so grey these days.
