Sep 13th 2011 6:07PM Thanks for the advice. I do love Turkey ~ Cappadocia is my favorite region. We are hoping to get back there in the next 5 years or so. One last question ~ do you know of any good guide books written specifically for the trail? Or a good website?
Thanks again for your insightful article and response. :-)
Sep 13th 2011 10:36AM I would say for most of us, the only thing 9/11 did was make us feel less safe and more hassled at the airport. But honestly, my everyday life did not change - much like yours. It would be wonderful to go back to pre-9/11 - the shoes, the liquids, the full body scans - who would have thought we would be dealing with this cr@p 10 years later? If anything, I feel like the government has used our fear as an excuse to take away freedoms and financially burden us more...but that is just me. Any other thoughts out there?
Sep 13th 2011 10:30AM Is this city mentioned in the New Testament? If it is on the St. Paul trail then I would assume it is. I visited Turkey pretty extensively back in 2003 but we neglected to visit this site...was my guide negligent? On another note - is hiking the trail considered 'safe' these days? I know Turkey has some reported terrorist activity, (we actually were in Istanbul when the synagogue bombs went off - still felt safe) anything directed towards tourists?
Aug 10th 2011 11:48PM This is great...I would add DEFINITELY keep the healthy snacks coming - keep the blood sugar stabilized. My question is though...how do you keep mommy from suffering museum fatigue? Someone please tell me!!! :-)
Aug 3rd 2011 10:42AM yeowzah25: these are PERFECT - thank you! Fidofactor is a great little website for traveling with dog period. I hadn't known about it until you showed it to me - now Alma and I can travel in style. Wooff! :-)
Jul 20th 2011 12:46AM As a avid fan of south africa and its rhinos, this article is both disheartening and hopeful. The more awareness is raised about this issue the more likelihood we will be able to do something. Thank goodness measure are being taken to save this rare and beautiful animal. http://goo.gl/CUzAr
