Six Reasons to Love the Outer Banks {Gadling}

Jul 13th 2011 10:32AM One comment I would like to add, is there some kind of program that is allowing Russian women to come to Outerbanks to work. Most all the restaraunts we went to and some of the gift shops, all they had was Russians working there. What's this all about?

Jul 13th 2011 10:15AM We always go after the children have gone back to school. The Sea Ranch motel, in Kill Devil Hills, thet have a nice spot to eat but rather pricey. Where would walked to twice, and I'm glad we did, because those long cool drinks get to ya, after a couple or so, but anyways, it is about 2 blocks up from the Sea Ranch, on the left side after you pass the hotel, I think it is called Jolly Rodgers. Matter of fact, the end of summer deal we get, always includes breakfast at the Jolly Rodgers, we decided to go back one night for dinner, yummmm!!!!

Six Reasons to Love the Outer Banks {Gadling}

Jul 13th 2011 9:52AM I can't stand Myrtle Beach because it has grown so much, the traffic is awful, the noise level is horrible, and I guess I've just flat out-grown it. Of course, when I was a kid, it was the best place in the world. But I just don't see it the same now. I have been to Ocean Isle, we stayed almost a week, we must have gone at a bad time because the beach was nasty with jellyfish. Daytime, night time, it made no difference. It was just nasty, but those folks got in the water and dodged the jellyfish on the beach. As a matter of fact, a couple of nights when we were at OBX, we would go walking on the beach at night, and ran into quite a few of them. But we were under a hurricane watch one night, so I've wondered did the tide push them up that night. Lots of rain, wind, but nothing that made us have to leave. What is Carolina Beach in NC like? We have thought about going there one year. And do you know the one and only reason we went to OBX the first time? Nicholas Sparks. I wanted to see the part of NC I had never seen that he writes about. Can't help it . I'm a romantic at heart. It did not disappoint us, that's why we keep going back!!!!
