New Disney World Attractions To Bring Immersive Experience {Gadling}
Oct 18th 2012 5:45PM Speaking from someone whose family owned some of the original land Disney is built on, they did respect them and paid them well for that land. If it were not for Disney, that area's economy would be awful. If it weren't for Disney, do you think Universal would have built there? If it weren't for Disney, do you think that area would have grown to have so many good and nice things. Doubt it. We'd have lots of orange groves that may or may not produce.

School Shopping List: Pencils, Notebooks and, Oh Yeah, Your Own Toilet Paper {ParentDish}
Aug 18th 2010 6:45PM I know this happens all over, and as a teacher I can say it is nice to have those things where we don't have to keep buying them...
BUT the schools need to check with the state ed. dept & education laws or laws concerning children being asked (or forced) to buy things like that. In several states, it is illegal for most PUBLIC schools to request items like hand sani for the classroom, towels, etc. if it is done in certain ways. That is not a well known law in many places, but it is still a law. If you as a parent can't afford or don't like buying the supplies like that, check with your state laws to see if you even have to.
In PRIVATE schools, this is a different matter, and there isn't much that is restricted as far as asking for things. The school I work in requires students to bring supplies at the start of the year as well as do hours of community service (both kids & parents) before graduation.
Win an exclusive Wizarding World of Harry Potter magic wand! {Gadling}
Jun 19th 2010 12:31AM I'm so excited that the new park is open! Even though I'm just a kid at heart (I'm 29). I love the Harry Potter series and movies! It gives everyone, young and old, a chance to escape the real world, even for just a moment or an hour. Now with the park, children and those (like me) who are still young at heart, can truly experience the "magic" that J.K. Rowling has created! Sometimes everyone needs a break from real life, and Harry Potter has provided that for many both young and old. I'm so happy that Universal decided to build the park, and make the magic real!
Hot Seat: Lincoln Wrong to Fight Civil War? {Politics Daily}
Dec 26th 2007 12:28PM What most people don't realize is that what Ron Paul said is correct. Slavery (which, is NOT what the Civil War was originally fought for, the original cause was STATES RIGHTS so all you people that think the entire war started over slavery are misinformed) did phase itself out in other countries. Lincoln jumped the gun on the war. In fact he jailed half of the Maryland legislature on the eve of a secession vote to keep Maryland in the Union. I don't support Ron Paul because he has some very far off ideas, but I do think several of his comments in the interview are correct. The Civil War comment being one of them. The problem with people thinking he is crazy is the fact that we in this country have been brainwashed to think that some presidents we've had have been wonderful when in fact they weren't if you study history correctly and not what the majority of this country tells you. People, just get your facts straight.
The Pope wears Prada {Stylelist (Main)}
Nov 22nd 2006 9:55AM Oh and by the way...Some Prada shoes aren't quite as expensive as some of you may think...so if you don't know anything about the brand itself other than you can't afford it...then hush.
The Pope wears Prada {Stylelist (Main)}
Nov 22nd 2006 9:52AM Ok. So what if he wears Prada. Some of you need to STOP JUDGING everything you come across. I have a feeling that you that are make the claim to be Christians and for some reason you want to judge Catholics and the Pope all the time by calling us hypocrites. Sounds a bit like the pot calling the kettle black if you asked me. If you are Christian then you should take a lesson from the Bible and not be so judgmental. Or better yet...if you can't say anything nice or non-judgmental why don't you just shut your mouth!
