Photo of the day - Toronto turkey {Gadling}

Nov 25th 2011 12:33PM What? How one gets a peacock - or a turkey from that thing is beyond me.

Gadling gear review: Sierra Designs Jive Jacket {Gadling}

Oct 10th 2011 8:17PM Very nice. You forgot to mention the price, probably a month's income for some folks...

Inside Donald Trump's 757 {Gadling}

Aug 18th 2011 7:24PM Wow! What a nice airplane. I agree the another in the hope that he really did pay $100M - and a substantial tax. In the end, this is disgusting. Ms. Perfect Teeth and hips that move just right) is a well-qualified FA, I'm sure. Does Boeing have a Special Course for 'attendants' that also need to meet FAA requirements? I too am delighted that I do NOT live in NYC and am, to the best of my knowledge, not subjecet to any Trump businesses. The real cost of One Hour's operation of this silly airplane will sustain me in glorious comfort for an entire year. Disgusting and I agree, there ought to be a 100% tax (or more) on this sort of thing. Shame, Trump. Simple shame.

Belfast airport now charging for smoking {Gadling}

May 8th 2011 9:01AM As a former smoker, I can appreciate the extreme urge. While far fewer folks smoke these days, finding a safe (legal?) spot in a huge, international airport can be a challenge. As much as simply not smoking is the best course, offering a PAID space for that pre-boarding fix IS a reasonable service. Some will use it now and over time the need (we hope) will fade. Is it a reasonable service in those thousand-acre airports that are otherwise non-smoking venues? Best guess is yes. I don't, but I used to and I understand how awful it can be. At least for a few years, let those paid spaces fly. -C.

The most ridiculous hats of the Kentucky Derby and Oaks {Gadling}

May 8th 2011 8:50AM Oh My God!.. Yes, spelled out. Who are they trying to kid? Most of that 'Head Gear' is disgusting. Sadly, most of those women look just aweful. Of course, one expects a few unusual hats on 1) Queen Liz-II, 2) Britain's Ascot 3) and in a few, old, traditional, US AME churches.
Especially at Easter or in Spring, the AME hats are a sight to be seen and many of them make their own. The others? They simply buy and instruct the milner to go a bit over the edge. Frankly, the AME hats are much better becasue they are built to last an entire season. The ladiesof the AME group may have but one piss-elegant costume, somplete with hat, but the will wear it for the entire year, while slowly building a new one for next year. If one watches hats, the informal Easter Parade in some Southern cities is far more entertaining than anything that New York can produce! The really interesting hats do not appear at the races, but on Easter Sunday and in places that most folks would probably not be. See the hats, enjoy the food and then race back to the suburbs, you White Trash opportunists!
