Cascading changes likely for cruise travelers {Gadling}

Jan 25th 2012 11:07AM I agree, the captain and crew did not do their jobs. How would background checks on the passengers have changed the outcome of this latest incident? I think they need to be checking those who are working on their ships, not the passengers. Security and safety of the passengers is their responsibility. This is something that should have been addressed and standardized long ago within their corporation. Why are they now making their customers pay an extra $50 for something that should have been present in the first place? I think I will choose a different cruise line in the future. Not because of the $50 but because of the principal.
