Yet another video from Dave Carroll of United Breaks Guitars {Gadling}

Mar 4th 2010 10:08AM No one in our family has flown with United since 1999. That was the year they marooned my wife and her 80 year old father at SFO. Why? Because, as we figured out, there weren't enough passengers continuing on the flight to Seattle to make it worth their while. They had left San Diego and half way to SFO they were told the flight would terminate there. They were given the option of waiting five hours for another flight. Not wanting to keep her elderly father from waiting for that period, she opted for a sooner flight to nearly Portland. Bear in mind, there was never a claim of mechanical issues, etc. When I went to pick them up, I was told several times that the flight had been cancelled by "weather." Twenty minutes later another flight arrived at SEA from SFO! So, I drove to Portland to get them. Did their luggage come with them? No of course not. It went on to SEA just as they should have. United is a brood of vipers. We'll take AMTRAK or Greyhound before we give them another penny.

AIG execs threaten to quit if pay is cut {Daily Finance}

Cockpit Chronicles: Catching a little show in Paris {Gadling}

Jul 11th 2009 11:12AM Kent:

Wow! Thank you for such great videos and reporting on the Paris Air Show. Also a big thanks to Gadling and your fellow crewmen for facilitating your attendance. One comment got my attention: an incoming crew normally spends two hours in a hotel lobby waiting for their rooms? American needs to rethink their contract with that hotel and provide better service to their employees.

Keep the posts coming. I look forward to each.

Best/Worst Airports {Gadling}

Nov 21st 2006 9:17AM I agree with the comment about Kansas City. The designers there were certainly thinking "outside the box." Hilo is a wonderful little airport - you know you're in paradise the moment you step off the plane. Albuquerque is very nice - native American art in abundance. The worst? Where do you begin? LAX - it has the same mind numbing ambience as the rest of LA.
