In-Flight Cellphone Calls To Be Allowed On Virgin Atlantic Flights {Gadling}

May 14th 2012 10:20PM Terrible idea!! Can you imagine sitting captive for hours next to someone talking in a raised voice as most people speak on a cell phone. I see fisticuffs breaking out in-flight. I relish the quiet on flights. That is the only saving grace for air travel.

One-Armed Kevin Laue an NCAA Basketball Inspiration to All {Fanhouse NCAA Basketball Blog}

Feb 1st 2011 8:54PM check out the Tom Southall link at the Colorado College site. A true gentleman that holds all those sports records and played trumpet with one hand in his high school band. Amazing inspiration for your son.

Ben Eager Suspended 4 Games {Fanhouse NHL Blog}

Jan 9th 2011 11:12AM Colby Armstrong is a dirty player who consistently takes cheap shots at players heads. What goes around comes around and I think that Armstrong got off light with Eager's shot. There is no place in hockey for the headhunting that Armstrong does, period.

NHL Investigating Four Controversial Long-Term Contracts {Fanhouse NHL Blog}

Aug 14th 2010 5:45PM What makes the whole thing worse is that if Hossa's contract is voided the Blackhawks would have been able to retain Byf, Versteeg and Ladd not to mention the others that they had to move because of the CBA cap. Ridiculous, Ronin is correct this all started w/ the RWings - Zetterberg and Franzen. What are we going to do pull a Sherman and Peabody, use the "way back machine" and re-write history? Bettman is a lightweight and the NHL needs to replace him with a real hockey guy.

Blackhawks Walk Away From Antti Niemi, Sign Marty Turco {Fanhouse NHL Blog}

Aug 2nd 2010 8:12PM I am extremely saddened by the destruction of the first Blackhawks Stanley Cup Championship team since the early 1960's. I do realize that this is directly in response to the CBA salary cap issue that the Blackhawks find themselves facing. That is why the previous GM (Tallon) was shown the door. He didn't understand the need to have a better handle on structuring contracts (see Brian Campbell's contract or Huet's). He was the one who actually built this champiohsip team. I and the Hawks will sorely miss "Big Byf",Versteeg Niemi and Ladd. Madden bought some great minutes for the stars to rest and was a real pest on the PK and Sopel, while still learning blocked tons of shots. I thank the Blackhawks for the birthday present this year (Stanley Cup) but I think that it will be a quite awhile before we see them hoist the cup again.

Jeremy Roenick Gets Emotional After Chicago's Win {Fanhouse NHL Blog}

Jun 11th 2010 12:16PM i agree completely. Roenick played in the play-offs with a broken jaw. Keith loses 7 teeth and only misses a shift. Baseball players go on the 15 day DL with a hang nail. Hockey players are warriors and like him or not JR was one of the toughest.

Chicago's Win a Big Win in TV Ratings {Fanhouse NHL Blog}

Jun 11th 2010 12:03PM I think that there are several contributing factors to the solid TV ratings.1. The growth of both HDTV availability and better HDTV production quality make it a better experience for the casual hockey fan. Hockey zealots, like me, would have watched this series on a black and white 5 inch screen if that was all that was available.2. Both cities draw from a very large metropolitan area will many millions of people. Both cities baseball teams are underperforming so casual fans are gravitating to "watch winners".3. Lastly, both cities, but particularly Chicago, have a very large transplanted fan bases on both the East and the West coasts so the interest was kept up even in areas that, hotbeds and/or did not have a "horse in that race".

Duncan Keith Loses Teeth, Returns to Lead Blackhawks to Win {Fanhouse NHL Blog}

May 23rd 2010 8:46PM Baseball players get a hang nail and go on the 15 day DL. The "Duncster" loses seven teeth and misses 2 shifts. Hockey players are "real men", real athletes, real competitors. Go Duncan, Go Blackhawks - BRING HOME THE CUP!!

Dale Tallon Still Has Fans in Chicago {Fanhouse NHL Blog}

May 18th 2010 10:06AM Dale Tallon is a class act. Once while on a plane carrying the Blackhawks from Chicago to Orange County (The Hawks had a game the next night against the Ducks) I was seated next to Dale in first class, across the aisle from, then coach, Craig Hartsburg. After talking hockey a while and talking about my kids being crazy Blackhawks fans and youth hockey players, Dale excused himself and went back into the coach section of the plane. The hawks had a rule that, other than coaches, if everyone couldn't be in first class then nobody could be in first class. He returned a little while later with a sheet of paper that had almost all the players autographs and #'s. the only one's that weren't on it had been asleep when the paper was circulated. Savard, Belfour, Amonte, virtually all are on that paper. dale didn't have to do that. I didn't ask him to do it. He just went out of his way for a fan and his kids. CLASS ACT ALL THE WAY!! THANKS AGAIN DALE!!

Vigneault, Canucks Fume Over Costly 'Too Many Men' Penalty {Fanhouse NHL Blog}

Apr 19th 2010 2:06PM Vigneault got it wrong as to who should call the penalty for too many men on the ice. It is the responsibility of the linesman to make that call according to the rulebook.
