Jul 2nd 2009 12:35PM the pilot should be fired. there are rules for flight attendants and pilots that the faa have made very clear on this kind of thing. also the passengers are not allowed to use cell phones or two way paging during flight. this includes internet services and texting.

Jul 2nd 2009 12:29PM these flight attendants are right. we don't mind you ringing the bell if you need something. the problem we have is with the people who are annoying about it. on most of my planes i have about 150-200 people. thats three flight attendants for 150 and 4 flight attendants for 200. we have to do the service in order of front to back. this makes the service go as quick as possible allowing people in the back of the plane to get stuff as quickly as possible. the problem is there are always some people up front who play the little tricks the other flight attendants mentioned and this delays us getting to the people in back. there are short flights where this happens and the people don't get anything because of an overly needy person up front. this is the order we do things. 1. drink and food cart. 2. pick up trash. 3. if time permits a second drink service. 4. pick up trash. please help us give the most effecient service possible by not asking to pick up your trash during the drink/food service and don't ask for a drink during the trash service. when we are done with the service we would be glad to get you what you need. also i don't think you really want me to throw people's trash away while i am doing a food or drink service because this means that my hands are now dirty. surely you don't want me to touch the glass you are going to drink out of when i have just handled some of the really nasty things people hand me. same as when picking up trash you really don't want me handling anything you want to eat or drink. there is another reason for this. a cart can not be more than three rows away from a flight attendant. if i have to go get you something or throw something away i have to take the cart with me. this is annoying to everyone. time wise, getting bumped wise and for me the hassle of pushing or pulling several hundred pounds back and forth. never ever touch my back or my rear to get my attention. i will get very nasty about this. i have the right to work in a non- harrassment workplace the same as anyone else and touching me in my private places is harrassment. just keep in mind the flight attendants want to give you a good service. we can only do so much with what the airline provides us with. this includes food, drinks, pillows, blankets and the amount of flight attendants on board to take care of so many people.

Jul 2nd 2009 11:57AM news reporters don't have any trouble hitting people, but when a flight attendant is attacked by a passenger they always turn it around and make the flight attendant look bad. if they don't like being harrassed by drunks then they should realize we don't either. the same goes for the way they report on police officers. they always make it look like the cop was the bad guy.

Jun 19th 2008 5:02PM NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK OF US IT DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO BEAT US UP. WE DESERVE TO WORK IN A SAFE WORK ENVIROMENT JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. ALSO IF THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT WAS RUDE TO YOU, COULD HAVE BEEN BECAUSE YOU WRE BEING AN A-HOLE TO THEM. TRETING PEOPLE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE LIKE DOGS THAT ARE BENEATH YOU DOES NOT IMPROVE THE WAY THEY TREAT YOU. INSTEAD IT MEANS YOUR FOOD MAY HAVE BEEN RUBED INSIDE OF THE TOILENT BEFORE YOU GOT IT.

Jun 19th 2008 4:56PM walk into walmart and punch an employee. what will happen to you? flight attendants have the right to work without being beaten up. The faa requires that we stop people from smoking on planes. as a matter of fact they require us to make sure alot of things are done right on the plane. the punishment for us not doing it is a fine that is usually over a $1,000 and must be paid before we return to work.but you probably won't have to worry about returning to work, because you will be fired. we are made to follow these rules and supposedly inforce them. the least the passengers can do is give us a break. we are only trying to support our families. STOP THE ABUSE ON THE PLANE!!!!!!!

Jun 12th 2008 4:54PM I hear you on the shoes. I refuse to bring two pair of shoes to work. I fought the company long and hard over this. They insisted that the pump is the only shoe for women and I had to point out that they had two men dressed as women and that to wear a pair of comfortable shoes that I would dress like a man. I finally won the argument. But what I would really llike you to do a story on is the fact that the airlines won't let us use gloves to pick up trash. I would also like to bring up that it is not okay for people to hand a flight attendant their dirty diapers, snot rags, spit cups and vomit. These are bathroom deposits that should be made by the passenger. I had a woman once that handed me her tray to empty. when i turned it upside down I got vomit all over me. It turns out she would take a bite of her food and then vomit it up. then she placed trash on top of it so that I couldn't see it. Just a reminder we are not allowed to wear gloves and that we don't want to catch nasty diseases and I'm sure the passengers don't either. for the people who say this is a part of my job,please think again. I am the one who is going to serve your next drink. do you really want me to pass it on to you? also do you do this to your waiter at a resturaunt? for the ones who say if you don't like it quit. Can you quit your job? are people calling you left and right to hire you? I think not so stop using that. It's just plain stupid.
