New E-Kiosks Aim To Speed Up Airport Customs Process {Gadling}
May 10th 2013 10:12PM Doesn't this seem like it's adding an additional line to the customs process? Instead of everyone filling out their card concurrently on the plane, passengers are now forced to wait in a line for the kiosks before waiting in a different line to see the customs agent. Sounds efficient to me...
Allegiant Air To Start Charging For Carry-Ons {Gadling}
Apr 2nd 2012 4:53PM I've always felt that it should the other way around. Where passengers pay for carry-ons and don't pay for checked bags. I understand that the checked bag system utilizes numerous personnel and expensive baggage sorting equipment, but I think passengers would much rather be able to store a bag that they're actually going to open at some point on the flight in an overhead bin without having to wrestle someone who isn't going open their bag once for a spot. Maybe I'm crazy though.
Why I hate The Amazing Race {Gadling}
Sep 21st 2011 11:30AM I don't watch the show often, but I do remember watching one episode which illustrates your point about the contestants not remembering where they had been perfectly. The contestants raced to the finish line, where they were challenged to match the people who had given them their clues to the country that they were affiliated with. Most of the contestants had an extraordinarily difficult time remembering even where they had been, let alone who they met there.
Travel should be able creating memories, not about blitzing your way through them in order to fill up slots in your passport.
Virgin's future lands at San Francisco's new T2 {Gadling}
Apr 7th 2011 2:23PM I would love to see a tarmac shot of White Knight 2 parked in the midst of the Boeings and Airbuses. The juxtaposition would be awesome.

RSVIP: Indulged Tweens Rock Z100's The Jingle Ball {Luxist}
Dec 13th 2010 8:02AM My younger sisters have been going for years, I guess that puts my family in the "power" section of the demographic spectrum... hadn't really thought of it like that. I honestly didn't know much about the whole thing. I preferred the jazz clubs in lower Manhattan when I was in high school (wait... I still prefer them). So it's interesting to hear a writer refer to the event as one for the "young power brokers."

Oct 24th 2010 4:47PM Yes there is. It's a called an Airstream. They're so retro, they're modern.
DLS Faceoff: Grooveshark is a solid music streaming and recommendation app for Android {Download Squad}
Oct 12th 2010 3:40PM The reason for lack of album art and duplicate songs is because all content on Grooveshark is user submitted.

Sep 13th 2010 12:09AM The biggest reason for me to get the VIP service (which I've had for over 6 months and love) is the Android app that comes with it. It's brilliant and excellent for parties. I can't remember the last song I played on my phone that was actually stored on my device, there's no need.
American Airlines misroutes, loses guns belonging to Israeli PM bodyguards {Gadling}
Jul 7th 2010 10:13PM I'm not defending the US's baggage distribution system (it definitely needs to be fixed) but Isreal has 47 airports, compared to the US's 15,095. (According to the World Factbook) The US system is infinitely more complex.
