I guess you do run out of great story lines - or - one has a good idea, then kill it with over complicating it to pass it off as great writing. Case in point...last season 24 found a new golden goose in the persona of Renee. People fell for her because of her gradual transformation from a do-goodie idealist to a more realist outlook. There was hope among the following that perhaps a common ground will finally provide Jack with an appropriate companion.
There was such a tremendous open ended storyline in this continuation, but NO...they had to destroy the Renee people fell for, and create a sinister psychopath with a sadistic trait. I LOVED Renee last "day," but hate the character now - so, with nothing to look forward to...see ya!

Jan 19th 2010 7:55PM Yes..At the end of the first hour, last three or four minutes, just after Meredith got her badge back and went through security, she called someone and said that the brother pulled her badge, but she had Hassan reinstate it...Then she said: I know, I know I'm behind schedule, but it'll get done!
Who was she talking to? And what does this mean?
Oh, and I loved the typical NY cop beating on Jack. He represents 90 percent of NY cops behaviour.
Hour two with Jacks daughter telling him it's OK to go back, and Jack visibly torn between duty and family was a powerful scene.
I think Cloe is just as much of 24 now as Jack. She's awsome.
