Uncool dads, fret not: there's a book for you! {ParentDish}

Nov 20th 2006 8:22AM You don't need someone else telling you how to be a cool dad. I think it's all about establishing a good relationship with your child. Just be involved in his life. Know the things that your kids are interested in. It's enough that you know what they're into so you can relate with them better.You don't have to be too involved...then you'd just be annoying. Whether you're a cool dad or not is for your kids to decide. Maybe the book is a good read and can even provide helpful tips or give you ideas. But let it not be some sort of a parenting manual.

Come on kids, join the Army, there's no war! {ParentDish}

Nov 20th 2006 8:22AM To trick kids to join the army, with blatant lies is disgusting. Aside from the fact that you are giving them wrong information, you are coaxing them to get into something that may not be what they expected. There is not way to make war look glamorous. Maybe that is why they are hiding it from the young people. But my isea is that they weren't trying to trick those kids. I think they were just stupid. I agree with that mother, just tell them the truth. Let them make their own decisions.

Doctors and hospitals working to reduce waiting time {ParentDish}

Nov 19th 2006 11:12AM This is great news! I'm sure a lot of parents or jumping for joy. It's terrible seeing patients in need of medical attention have to wait, uncomfortable in a crowded waiting room. Those ideas are good and I'm sure would be effective. But I hope they think of more ideas...suggestions would be appreciated in this case. Especially from those who have experienced hours of wating in a clinic or emergency room.

Madonna unhappy with media involvement of her adoption {ParentDish}

Nov 19th 2006 11:12AM What's wrong with Madonna adopting a baby? It's not like she has some parental issues. I don' see anything wrong with wanting to help out an orphaned child. She's got kids of her own and I'm sure she's a wonderful mom. Angelina Jolie did it twice and nobody's complaining. Just let her be and be happy that that kid's going to have a good life now.

THINKFilm Picks Up Hip-Hop Project {Cinematical}

Nov 16th 2006 12:56PM Now why would Bruce Willis invest his time and money on hip-hop? I guess anything can happen these days. Still it's a funny though; Bruce Willis and Hip-Hop. As for the documentary, I've heard some good things about it. This should be more reason to inspire the young people out there and give hope to those who think there's nothing left to hope for. All you need is a dream.

Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Movie? {Cinematical}

Nov 16th 2006 12:56PM Oooh! I love The Chipmunks! I never really knew how much I missed them til I read about their possible come-back. I'm not so excited about the movie though. I'm more interested in the possibility that they will bring back the cartoon series. I don't want changes. I want the old one exactly as it was back then. They made extreme ghostbusters (which really sucked) and Ninja Turtles that I couldn't bring myself to enjoy anymore. For godsake! Don't do it to Alvin, Simon and Theodore!

Stingrays Attack! {Gadling}

Nov 16th 2006 1:59AM
What's with the stingray's? All of a sudden they're out on a rampage. I read that they're harmless and they only attack as a defense. And it's rare for people to die of stingray attacks. It's only fatal when you they hit a nerve or the heart. It's sad that Steve Irwin had to die that way, his kids being so young and all. And who would've thought that a stingray would be the one to get him. I feel sorry for that old man. How is he now? I hope he survived.

Monday Morning Poll: Trick or Treat {Cinematical}

Nov 16th 2006 1:56AM I love Shaun of the dead! That would be on my list for sure. I would watch Sixth Sense again.. that scared me to death. Although I doubt it would scare me now as much as it did before. And then maybe I would watch Glitter...Mariah scared the hell out of me with her acting! Still gives me the creeps just thinking about it.

Harold and Kumar 2 Becomes Official {Cinematical}

Nov 16th 2006 1:55AM I didn't think there was anything special with the first one. There were some funny scenes, and at best the movie was a little bit entertaining. But I like the characters (Harold and Kumar) and I like the actors portraying them. I also liked the idea that they took these 2 underdogs to star in their own movie. About Neil Patrick Harris...he was splendid :) Too bad it was just a cameo.

Hollywood Reporter Helps Promote Oscar Contenders {Cinematical}

Nov 16th 2006 1:54AM Frankly, I don't really care much about the Oscars. But I don't hate it or anything. I wouldn't stay in to watch the ceremonies on TV but if I'm home while it's showing I wouldn't change the channel. I think it's great that Hollywood Reporter did this. I'm sure a lot of people appreciate it. I know I would love to have a place online to keep me up-to-date with whatever it is that I'm interested in.
