Mar 7th 2011 12:17PM I loved this movie, and would love to see the actual house fly. How fun!
Feb 8th 2011 11:51AM Quelle suprise indeed. This can't be a good thing for competition, nor for travelers. Corporate greed is a poison.
Dec 30th 2010 4:30PM Discount ticket brokers will continue to exist and book airlines. Apparently, American Airlines doesn't want to be associated with "bucket shops." Whatever. Commerical Air Travel is simply transportation, not the vacation experience. I'm waiting for someone to beam me to my next destination.
Dec 30th 2010 9:49AM A good travel agent will also apply exclusive amenities, and recommend alternatives. We might be able to apply upgraded cabins at a comperable rate, we might have space blocked so our pricing is better. It's not really about price, it's about the value we provide. And, if you have questions, we will answer them; we'll anticipate your needs; we'll be with you along the way. Why? Because we love what we do.
Dec 29th 2010 5:01PM Thank you for your support of real travel professionals. I've been an agent for 20 years, and love what I do. I love sending people on trips - cruises, customized land programs. I am of the belief that travel is a step toward a peaceful world. Part of my day, every day, is spent on research and continuing education. I have traveled extensively, have cruised extensively on a variety of lines, and have done many a ship inspection as well. I like matching clients to the correct experience - I like knowing that my experience and professionalism helps people. My job is helping people realize their dreams - and there are many travel professionals out there with the same passion.
On the downside, there are also many travel agents out there who should not be selling travel. Really. So I would suggest this: just as you research your attorney, your accountant, and your doctor, do the same finding your travel agent. Find the personality that fits you, and also make sure that they have the chops to go along with that personality.
Without a travel agent, you're on your own.
Dec 16th 2010 10:36AM What a tease! Makes me want some paella. What's fideua? Looks fantastic.
Dec 11th 2010 5:35PM Hopefully, this will put an end to the misconception that cruises are nothing but wall-to-wall foodfests. RCCL has quite an emphasis on activity, and I love this concept. Going to link it to my own blog.
