10 free things to do in Dublin, Ireland {Gadling}

Mar 11th 2012 3:12PM Nice coverage of free things to do in Dublin! A few extras.. Iveagh Gardens is a lesser known, beautiful park a short walk away from St. Stephen's Green (and is a great alternative for a picnic when Stephen's Green is crowded). Anyone interested in Irish literature will want to check out the National Library of Ireland and its famous Yeats exhibit. Also, while your tip of a free walking tour is a good one, visitors will be stopping at an Irish pub -- with Irish beers and Irish food -- for lunch, not an English one. Slainte!

The Gadling budget travel manifesto {Gadling}

Dec 6th 2010 12:39PM This is a great post articulating recent trends in budget travel. It's time somebody stood up and said that budget travel can be as sophisticated as luxury travel, and outlined ways that budget travel allows people to connect better with local culture (which ironically, some luxury travelers desire and don't find). Best of luck in your manifesto to cover more budget-friendly topics, and as a reader, I'd be interested in reading about value at restaurants. How / where / when can travelers find a fine-dining experience for great value? (Prix-fixe menus, early bird specials, late night bar menu, etc).
