Prom Night 2009: Jim Crow Style {Blackvoices Main}

May 27th 2009 9:50AM Talk is cheap, words without actions mean nothing. These high school students need to learn how to live what they say they believe. They need to learn how to stand on their own two feet and stand together against racism or they are just perpetuating it.

Debate Over Obama Notre Dame Commencement Address Heats Up {News Campus Blog}

Mar 24th 2009 3:16PM Anne, Even practicing Catholics are still free to think whatever they want. A quick google of "Catholic opinion on abortion" showed that 15% of US Catholics believe that abortion should be illegal in all cases. Not that I would encourage anyone to have an abortion, but what you're proposing is a major university limiting a free exchange of ideas.

Debate Over Obama Notre Dame Commencement Address Heats Up {News Campus Blog}

Mar 24th 2009 11:59AM As a Catholic and a graduate of Notre Dame, I am happy the university has invited and the president has accepted. The abortion question is one that learned men and women, including Catholics, can reasonably disagree on, but even if it wasn't, to ban speakers based on a religious tenet is contradictory to the goals of an institution of learning in particular and an open society in general.

Nov 10th 2006 11:11AM And he says "you know how I think." Pure and simple appeals to racists in his state. Scary images of the KKK come to mind. A wall should be built around Tennessee.

Old vs. New Netscape (or "if you could change GeoCities into MySpace in 2002 would you have?") {The Jason Calacanis Weblog}

Jul 18th 2006 5:35PM One thing I forgot to mention, you can determine how successful the site is by counting the number of clicks on the home page - I'll bet they're way down.

Old vs. New Netscape (or "if you could change GeoCities into MySpace in 2002 would you have?") {The Jason Calacanis Weblog}

Jul 18th 2006 4:18PM Sorry, but it looks to me like all the comments are negative. Count me in the negative as well. Face it, you've miscalculated who your audience is - anyone that's still using Netscape is a stubborn stick-in-the-mud who resists change. So what do you do? You make a complete change - shift your paradigm - do the point where it bears little relation to what it replaces. I call that a gross miscalculation. Simple solution: whoever came up with this idea should be fired.
