Alarm Dock gives your iPhone retro cred {TUAW.com}

May 25th 2011 11:39AM @henry
If you look at the site it doesnt look like it will boost the volume any, might even make it quiter... The hole coming out of the wood looks only big enough for the dock cable to come thru, no hole for the speaker to project thru... what a waist of money this thing is.

May 25th 2011 10:45AM Does it at least act like an acoustic amplifier and boost the volume a little. Say like a Kensington SoundWave car mount. That does a good job of doubling the sound, seems like it would be easy to do with one of these.

TUAW's Daily App: Lane Splitter {TUAW.com}

Mar 18th 2011 9:10AM Mike, apparently you've never sat on an air cooled motorcycle in 100 degree weather in stop and go traffic. You can literally get heat exhaustion for the engines heat and pass out. It's happened to me. We dont get to sit in our air conditioned cars and drink our iced coffee's. One of the things we can do to arrive to our destinations safely is to lane split. The problem with lane splitting is the people in cars who see you coming and purposely try to block you. If you try to run me off the road like that, dont be surprised if you lose a mirror or get an antenna ripped off your car in the process.

Feb 14th 2011 11:32AM When he rolls out of his office, he doesn't have the xoom in his hands or lap, so she already had her own xoom in her office... She just stopped being a drone when she saw his little animation... Is that correct?

Mel Martin: The Daily through the eyes of one journalist {TUAW.com}

Feb 2nd 2011 3:18PM Dont ALL news organizations have an agenda? You will never get a fair and balanced review of anything from anybody or any company.
Is The Daily going to be updated only once a day or will they be pushing out new stories as they come in? If it's just once a day, then I'll just stick to all my RSS feeds that I get for free and twitter updates. I dont want to hear about something that happened yesterday when I've probably already read about it a dozen times. That's why most print media has tanked. It's old news by the time they get it out and into it's customers hands.

New BillMinder a paid upgrade, but worth the money {TUAW.com}

Jan 14th 2011 9:40AM I just use google calendar. I just set up an event (set to private) when I get an email about the bill. No need to pay for software...
And to pay the bills, just pop over to the banks app and pay the bills.

Time Machine holds a place in my heart, and it should in yours too {TUAW.com}

Jan 7th 2011 9:08AM I recently bought an Airport Extreme and usb hard drive to do wireless backup for my MacBook. It took a better part of a full day to back up almost 400GB for the initial back up, but at about the 4th hourly back up after that, it failed to recognize the drive. It would show up under the choose drive option, but would fail to see it when it came time to do the back up. Played with it for a few days trying to get it to work and finally gave up and am using Carbon Copy Cloner to do my back ups.
