Soundgarden Play Secret Reunion Gig {Spinner}

Apr 20th 2010 10:56AM @ Gabrielle...

you confused a pop band called savage garden, which is from australia. they disbanded a few years back. either. for a pop band, they were really good.

soundgarden is a grunge/heavy rock band from seattle washington. they were the first band to sign to sub pop records with a contract. you cannot go wrong with songs like jesus christ pose and outshine. they are one of the groups i never got to see as a teenager growing up in the 90's.

if you were confusing the two trying to be funny, great. if not...

Is Robert Pattinson Going To Play Kurt Cobain? {PopEater}

Apr 9th 2010 11:28AM Robert Pattinson as Kurt? Right. He doesn't have the features, or the intensity. He is also nowhere near as fragile-looking as Kurt was. Kurt was a small, pixielike guy, about 5'6 and 120 lbs. Robert is 6'1 and pretty cut. Just wouldn't work. Jared Leto (looks mostly) I think could pull it off quite well. Kurt had those really intense eyes and stare, which is hard to pull off. Ewan Mc Gregor would have been a great fit, but he's slightly too old to pull it off. (although he is a FANTASTIC actor, my favorite, actually.)

Like to smoke? Rethink that holiday in Finland {Gadling}

Jan 15th 2010 11:52AM Uhmmm....

btw, this article is about Finland, NOT the US. Finland is a republic in northeastern Europe with a population of about 5 million. Not the 200 million + like we have in the States. Things like this can be regulated a lot more easily there.

I do find it slightly ironic that they want to ban smoking, but the Finns do love their alcohol. They work hard and party hard.

Irish Accent Voted World's Sexiest {Lemondrop}

Nov 3rd 2009 5:25PM @ Karen...

This is my 3rd attempt to post this damned comment. I am aware of the fact that Sweden is part of the UK. It was a grammatical error as compared to a gross ignorance of European geography. There is no need to "break it to me."

Irish Accent Voted World's Sexiest {Lemondrop}

Nov 3rd 2009 3:33PM Any of the UK accents are good, but I in particular like the Swedish accent. Scandinavian accents are sexy!

Undiscovered New York: Who's Got the Best Slice? {Gadling}

Oct 15th 2008 7:42PM For the person who wrote this blog:

the subway doesn't actually go to Staten Island. The subway to the Staten Island Ferry, yes, but not the actual subway. And Joe and Pat's isn't that great. I grew up around the corner and it's pretty good, but not that fantastic.

Galley Gossip: What is RIGHT with the airlines? (There's got to be something!) {Gadling}

Sep 29th 2008 6:17PM I look forward to flying. Mostly because it's taking me where I want to go! Up until the past two years I never had enough money to travel, and last year I FINALLY got to go to Europe for the first time. That was fantastic! I flew Lufthansa and I had a great experience. I'm sure there are rotten moments when it comes to customer service with most airlines, but it's also can be the consumer's fault. People nowadays feel a sense of entitlement when it comes to service--like Heather said. It's all about "me, me, me!" Also working in a semi-customer service capacity myself, one thing I've learned is that people don't pay attention to the fine print. Checking everything twice can be the difference between booking yourself on a flight to Brooklyn,NY vs. Brooklyn, MN.

The 20 Worst Band Photos: No. 12 {Spinner}

May 6th 2008 1:02PM oh yeah, these guys are from Staten Island. Guidos, all of them. Even if they didn't have where they were from, you can tell. I wonder how many royalties they got--did they get to upgrade the '92 maximas they're probably driving with the reflective Italian flag ornament?

Trendy Clothes For Every Shape And Size {AOL Hot Searches}

Apr 9th 2008 2:20PM lane bryant is great to go to when they have real women dollars/sales/coupons. i just bought a dress, a pair of capris, and two very cute shirts for 84 bucks. i used two real women dollars and there was a spring sale, so i ended up saving 98 dollars overall. not too shabby. i like torrid, moreso for shoes than anything else. i had a few items from ashley stewart, but they were very cheaply made. they didn't last too long. as for jessica london, i can honestly say this is is one retailer to avoid for shoes. last winter i bought a pair of riding boots. when they came, they were made of a horribly cheap vinyl/plastic type material, and had a very obvious white stitching around the sole of the shoe, similar to that on a doc martin boot. this was not shown in the picture on the website. i sent it back, and exchanged it for a different boot in the wide shaft (which i didn't order the first time). the boots again were still cheap looking, and one of the boots when i tried to zip it up, the zip LITERALLY broke in two pieces after trying to zip it over my calf. this was with minimal force.

and i recommend beautypluspower.com as well. i'm friendly with the girl who runs the website and she's all about promoting a positive image of the plus sized community.

my only gripe with lane bryant is that their new jeans system fits me terribly. i'm about 5'4 and wear a size 18, and the bootcut jeans fit in the hips and waist, but below the knee are just completely elephantine.

Rockin' Gay Moments: No. 15 {Spinner}

Dec 20th 2007 10:47AM ah! freaking love this movie! hedwig rocks.

i recenty bought meatloaf's bat out of hell, and it's quickly become one of my all time favorite albums. i didn't know that bat out of hell influenced john cameron so much. i think he and i would have a lot in common.
