Day Care Centers Cut Off Babies From Breast Milk {ParentDish}

Jun 2nd 2011 9:50PM torrance--you are an ass. "what 69 year old female can do that?" wow. what 69 year old woman would want to do that? She is too busy doing important things. But if there was one that wanted to they could. Male sexist pigs like you have kept women down for too long. Why don't you have nasty things to say about all the men that wont support their kids? I guess that is the woman's fault as well. I did it all the way it was "supposed" to be. The first man I ever had sex with was my husband. I always followed the rules. But guess what? He was a wife beater and a drug dealer (not something he did before we got married) So I left and had to work. He wasn't supporting his child so I had to. It wasn't a choice. Well it was, I could have stayed home and gone on welfare. I chose to go to work. I also chose to go to school. So I did all three. I would have loved to just have been a stay at home mom. But I had to pay the bills and I chose school (3.6 GPA) so I could get a better job and give my daughter a better life. Let's see a sexist male do all of that. I'll bet that you couldn't have done it--you were too busy bowling. But I am sure you will say that I should have stayed and let the SOB beat the both of us because us woman aren't anything but the property of the husband. If you are married I feel very sorry for your wife. She must be a very unhappy woman.

Update: Woman Pregnant With 12 Babies {ParentDish}

Jun 2nd 2011 8:47PM Does anyone read the story before commenting? First of all the artical says that the story is not true. Second of all that many babies usually comes from over stimulating the overies not implantation. I was about to undergo fertility treatment and was learning about the options when I became pregnant with naturally occuring twins. I was a month away from starting a drug (I forget the name but it started with a C) that did just that. I was hesitant becase it did have the chance of causing high order multiples. I don't know if I could make that kind of a choice-selective reductioin-to want a baby so badly and be faced with aborting some of them or continue and watch some or all of them die or face life long illness? I am so lucky that I didn't have to make the choice. But I had decided that if I couldn't come to terms with the consiquesnce then I wouldn't start the drug. I thank the powers that be to this day that I didn't have to decide. Two is a wonderful number and I am so grateful but so many aren't that lucky. Let's not judge people when you don't know what they have been through, just be glad that you don't have to make that choice for your own babies.

Virgin Blue Admits Toddler Was Put in Overhead Bin {AOL Travel News}

Mar 6th 2011 3:20PM You are so right? No one should have any children. Too bad your mother was one of those selfish- what was the insult you used? Anyways..clearly you have well illustrated your point on why people, especially your parents, should not breed. Thank you so much for your insiteful, articulate opinion. You have contribuated a valuable point of view.

Tax Refund Anticipation Loans May Be More Costly Than Waiting for the Money {WalletPop}

Feb 27th 2011 6:46PM For all of you that think poor equals dumb and lazy you should get down on your knees right now and be thankful that you have it so good. The people I know are working poor. People that work 60-70 hours a week just to make ends meet. My husband works two jobs, he is a social worker committed to fighting against child abuse and other evils but that doesn't pay all the bills so he also works as a sales associate on nights and weekends. I work at a call center and I raise our children. We don't spend on unnecessary items, we don't go out to eat or the movies, we don't go on trips. Our money goes to food, shelter, utilities etc. And guess what? We need our tax return as fast as we can get it because there are bills that are due. The $100 that it cost is worth it compared to late fees and a hit or two on our credit. We can't just efile because we need a professional to help us. And why is everyone so quick to find a reason to spew judgment and hatred in response to what should be a fairly neutral subject. Why do you all care anyways how people choose to get their tax return? Don't you have better things to do with your time? I swear there are many of you that just look to find a way to try to look superior to everyone else.

Does This Formula Make Me Look Fat? Breast-Feeding and Childhood Obesity {ParentDish}

Feb 25th 2011 2:10AM Why does everyone assume that everything from weight to allergies to mental health and physical well being have to do with whether or not a child was breast fed? It is not that black and white. I was breast fed and I am overweight. My brother was also and he is thin. He has always been prone to illness and I never get sick. I am sure that there are connections but I doubt that breast milk or formula is the only contributing factor towards any of these issues.
I don't produce any milk and I am so tired of having to carry the guilt and shame. I was devastated when I couldn't feed my first born. I was made to feel like less of a mother and a human. I tried everything. I pumped to no avail. I took herbal supplements, tired every suggestion offered to me, had a prescription drug not available in the US shipped from Canada at the insistence of the Lactation Nazi I was exhausted and headed for a nervous breakdown. Once I gave up after two months of trying I was able to finally enjoy my baby. A weight was lifted. My pediatrician pointed out that I was the reason why formula was invented-because in other times in history my baby would have died of starvation (unless I could have found a donor). At 9 my daughter is healthy and happy. She has an IQ of 136. She is a normal weight, well adjusted, doesn't have allergies, doesn't get sick very often. I just had twins and I didn't even consider going through that hell again. I went straight to formula and I don't regret it because I stopped letting myself be pressured by all those that think they know they everything. My twins are the easiest babies in the world-happy and healthy. And they have a mother who is not stressed out-which is the best thing I can give them-my undivided attention. It is these factors that will decided how my children will turn out-the time I spend with them, all the choices I make everyday. not just whether they get breast or bottle.
Why do breast feeding mothers have to be so mean? I am tired of people using studies that they don't understand the limitations of or how to apply the findings to pick out fact that support their own agenda. Stop judging, start supporting each other .I have always supported breast feeding mother's rights to nurse in public and have adequate time and space to pump at work. Yet not one breastfeeding mom supported me in my trials. The men must be laughing now. Women are warring amongst themselves. We have been though enough to get where we are now and yet this is what we have become-nit picking each others choices. I challenge you all to think of where our grandmothers stood.

Why Breast Milk Sharing Is Booming Online {ParentDish}

Feb 25th 2011 12:33AM I find it very interesting that 76% in the survey says that they think it is gross to milk share and yet there is such a hatred towards formula feeding. The moms that can and do breast feed think that they are better and know more than those who formula feed. But aren't you the same ones that think is it gross to milk share?

90 Teens Pregnant in One Memphis School {ParentDish}

Jan 22nd 2011 6:12PM Amen!!!! After all, teenage pregnancy isn't up--teenage marrage is down. My grandmother and most of my aunts were married and had kids when they were teenagers. All but one are still married to the same man. But they knew what they were getting into and that was just how it was done back then. Now women have so many more options and can have the lives and carriers that our grandmothers couldn't. Let's teach both the boys and the girls how to address their raging hormones and what kind of resposiblities sex brings. If they aren't ready to give up their own dreams to give their lives to a child than they need to wait to have sex.
