Oct 16th 2010 1:05AM 43 is not old for a Pilot.I know so many who started flying at age 18 in 1963 and retd. in 2010 successfully in 2010 at age 65 and still healthy ,some still flying.Medical science says heart attacks betwwen age 40 and 50 are most fatal.Higher age groups survival rate is better.Passenger flights are always flown with 2 trained Pilots for safety reasons.I am old pilot retd. at age 65 ,airline pilot flown 47 years successfully.It is not good for non-pilots to suggest one pilot instead of 2.this incident proves it.

Oct 16th 2010 12:53AM I have flown as pilot 47 years starting at age 18.This pilot was fit I know him.
We need 2 pilots on passenger flghts.This flight had 2 pilots that is why this flight was saved.

Oct 16th 2010 12:49AM There are always 2 pilots on all passenger flights.Reason is flight safety in case one pilot dies.This planning of flights with one pilot by some airlines is impractical.This pilot i know was very fit.Heart attacks in age 40 to 50 range are most fatal.Higher age groups have better survival rate.
