Air New Zealand debuts entirely redesigned 777 {Gadling}
Dec 24th 2010 2:07PM Yeah, all that fancy expensive equipment on a $150 million airplane and everyone still expects good customer service, safe and on time, a pillow blanket, meals, wine, trained flight crews and technicians and whatever else at deep discount prices. You know, travelocity and cheap tickets.com. Now we bitch about a decent attempt on REAL security vs the minimum wage/ minorites that worked for WACKENHUT. The idiots that used to be in charge of airport security screening. And again, all for $39 rountrip tickets. You people are insane.

Delta Plane Blows Four Tires {AOL Travel News}
Sep 18th 2010 6:00PM Folks, theres a lot of speculation going on here from people that think they know what theyre talking about. First of all, the plane blew one tire during its take-off roll. That prompted an aborted take-off which generates excessive heat in the brakes,wheels and tires. Airplane wheels have whats called a Fuse Plug in them. This is designed to relieve the nitrogen from the tire rather than having the tire explode from the expansion of the nitrogen. After the plane cam to a stop, the heat from the brakes continues to rise and the fuse plugs do what theyre designed to do. Relieve the pressure and the tire goes flat.
