Alaska's Bald Eagle Festival {Gadling}
Nov 8th 2006 9:15PM Bald Eagles are on the rebound, and there are places up and down the west coast of the lower 48 where you can see them.
Two places that come to mind are the Upper Skagit in Washington (http://www.skagiteagle.org/) and the Klamath Valley in Oregon (http://www.eaglecon.org/). Both places have eagle-related festivals in February. Go to a festival and give conservation a positive dollar value to the locals.

Nov 3rd 2006 3:28AM Note that you can log out of most modern operating systems, so a TSA agent has to ask you to log them in. Mac OS X comes with FileVault, which stores your user directory in a single encrypted file that's mounted when you log in that user, which adds to security.
Texas is an interesting place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there. That's why I moved away. :-)
