A light sleeper's lament: six things you shouldn't do in a hotel {Gadling}
Jan 14th 2012 12:09PM To Jerry--
The solution to YOUR issue is simple. While I agree it's annoying to hear some one blow their nose, the solution is to MYOB. Why would you actually sit there and WATCH some one looking at what they blew into their napkin?
Get a life...
A light sleeper's lament: six things you shouldn't do in a hotel {Gadling}
Jan 14th 2012 12:04PM I travel a lot, and these are MY pet peeves that weren't in the article:
Slamming doors late at night or early in the morning. I'm not sure why hotels don't do something so the doors don't slam, but for cryin' out loud, people! Other people are sleeping! Don't just walk away and LET the door slam! There is a noise ordinance for hotels in Covington, Kentucky, and the doors do NOT slam there. So, obviously, there IS something that can be done.
When you eat in a common area, clean up after yourself just a bit. No reason to walk away and leave chili smeared all over the table, or leave the soda that your child spilled all over the floor so that some one else might fall.
HELP YOUR CHILD at the buffet. Can't tell you how many times I've stood there and watched a 5 yr old holding their plate at a 45 degree angle, food sliding onto the floor, and they just walk away, oblivious. Not to mention them touching several items before they finally decide what to take. After picking their noses.
And this one goes for restaurants too-- WATCH YOUR KIDS! Hey, I have kids too. I know they can get in your way. YOU love them. No matter how cute they are, other people don't. We don't want them running into us, jumping on chairs, trailing water from the pool into the lobby, playing with the sliding doors, etc. YOU had them. They are YOUR responsibility. Not the hotels, not the restaurants and certainly not other guests. Children end up injured or worse, kidnapped or abused by strangers. Don't send them down to the lobby to play with the computer in the business center. If they want to play on the computer? BRING YOUR OWN!
Oh, and one more thing-- why do they have to SCREAM while in the pool? Indoors is indoors...even at the pool INDOOR voices please! And no cannonballs in the JACUZZI! The hot tub is meant for ADULTS, not 4 yr olds, okay?
Initial Unemployment Claims Drop, Cold Western States in the Worst Shape {AOL Jobs}
Feb 27th 2011 9:00PM No kidding...they all ask, "What have you been doing since 2008". WTH do you THINK I've been doing? Picking my nose? Looking for jobs that just weren't there until recently, and now, you have to be 22, with 10 yrs experience and multiple college degrees, willing to travel, and to work for $8 an hour.
If you're over 30, forget it.
Let's be honest..the plan is to just let all of us die, then there won't be anyone left to challenge the Repukelicans.

Feb 27th 2011 10:01AM Are you KIDDING me? Obviously, you don't live in an area where it's a problem. There is NO WAY to "pick up" all the goose poop left behind.
Honest to God...damned tree huggers...LOL
High Unemployment Numbers Fuel New Heinous Job Scams {AOL Jobs}
Dec 19th 2010 6:17PM I agree. Even the cell phone companies and cable companies have out sourced. When they ask me why my cable payment is late, I TELL them-- because YOU in Dominican Republic and India took all of our jobs. Cripes, even the health care systems have sent jobs out of the country. I offered to work off my emergency room bill from a damned stroke, but no jobs...all out of the country. And I have ten years of experience and can't get hired.

Dec 1st 2010 1:30PM "ALLOWING" yourself to be unemployed? Do you get out at all? Do you have ANY clue what's going on out there? I'm sure there are SOME people out there who enjoy the time off, but let me tell you, it's pretty damned hard to support a family on less than $1000 a month.
Hard to believe there are so many ignorant people out there, who really believe this garbage.
'America's Got Talent' Winner Is Crowned {AOL TV}
Sep 16th 2010 1:30PM While I may not think that Grimm should have won, the FACT is that part of the prize is a show in Vegas. Does anyone REALLY think that is an appropriate situation for a 10 yr old girl? She is not "Vegas" material, even though she may well have been the most talented performer of the season.
Had the prize been something else, then I say, yes, she should have won, money not withstanding.
