Travel Insurance Advice Not Always Sound With Cruise Vacations {Gadling}
Nov 24th 2012 6:08PM Which cruise lines have medical coverage in their "insurance"? Most I'm familiar with only cover the cost of the cruise itself. That's one reason we do two things: always book 3rd party travel insurance for cruises (not thru the cruise line, nor thru the travel agent) and maintain a year-round medical emergency policy which covers evacuation and repatriation - something few people think about, but all cruisers should - do you really want to be left to the mercies of the only hospital in some run-down island country?
Cruise Line Extra Charges Can Easily Double The Price {Gadling}
Sep 12th 2012 4:13PM This is only really valid if you compare to other vacation options - an all-inclusive resort, a "family destination" in the US, a "5 countries in 7 days" tour of Europe, etc.
Would You Sleep In A Converted Shipping Container? {Gadling}
Aug 9th 2012 2:22PM You can do this in the US - we did in both Coldfoot and Deadwood Alaska - there's no trees on the tundra, and it's a two-day drive south just to reach the arctic circle along the "haul road". So containers used to ship stuff up when the pipelinewas being built were turned into motel rooms for workers and (the somewhat strange) tourists. One of our most memorable trips!

Jul 14th 2012 10:09AM What does "despite being penned 12 years ago" mean??? Is it too reason to be considered greatphilosophy, or (as I suspect) are you claiming that it's so old as to be a product of the "dark ages"?

Winter in Alaska: fine dining, finer skiing at the Alyeska Resort & Hotel {Gadling}

San Jose to add "Silicon Valley" to airport name, maybe {Gadling}
Feb 24th 2011 1:43PM Having lived 10 minutes from SJC until last fall, I can tell you it isn't marketing the airport needs - it's a new airport! We would always prefer driving 40 minutes to SFO for a) better flight schedules and b)a better airport experience.
Too bad San Jose didn't persue moving the airport to Moffett Field 6 or 7 years ago when the govt. was looking for a taker..
