Nov 4th 2010 1:50PM What about Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon, where downtown city public transit is free, frequent, and works well? (I've ridden the bus/subway in London, Paris, Vienna, Munich, and elsewhere in Europe, too).

Oct 22nd 2010 12:43PM Regrettably, in the U.S. we haven't been able to figure out how to institute one of the best point-to-point transportation systems that works like a charm in Europe and would be an excellent alternative to domestic air travel: Fast, reliable, inter-city trains.
