Starbucks vs. Dunkin': A New Breakfast Sandwich Taste Test {Slashfood}
Jan 5th 2011 9:15AM I'm a big fan of the Starbucks breakfast sandwiches, especially the black forest ham one. They're warm and tasty, and have enough protein and carbs (without overloading on calories) to carry me through my morning. I'm definitely planning on checking out the $2 sandwiches this week!
Halloween Candy: The Not-So-Sweet News {Slashfood}
Oct 27th 2010 12:20PM Wow, another post from the Daily Beast that is basically like: here are some things you can buy anywhere that are bad for you. Almost as useless as their ranking of "healthy" beers:

Consulting Online Menus - What Can I Get You Folks? {Slashfood}
Apr 21st 2010 10:39AM Agreed - the issue here is not the customer but the restaurant. If a menu can't be kept current, it shouldn't be listed online - or the website should indicate that this is a SAMPLE menu that may not reflect seasonal or market availability.
On a related note - if the menu hasn't been updated in three years, what else on the website hasn't been updated? Hours? Contact info? Special events? Why bother having a website?
10 Stouts to Try — And Not One's Named Guinness {Slashfood}
Mar 11th 2010 7:57AM Oh my lord, you are missing out by not mentioning Founders Breakfast Stout. It's very nearly a perfect beer.
What's your favorite local fast food? {Slashfood}
Oct 18th 2008 12:51AM Oh my god, Beef-a-Roo in Rockford, IL - my hometown. I live in Virginia now and pine for Beef-a-Roo's shakes, cheddar fries, and fried chicken.
Starbucks new breakfast items reviewed {Slashfood}
Sep 10th 2008 5:36PM I might also note that the new bran muffin isn't as tasty as the old one, and also the Banana Chocolate Vivanno has more protein and fewer calories than the Power Protein Plate with peanut butter.
They're also trying to push the Vanilla Latte with Protein, but when I had it earlier in the week, the barista didn't really know what to do with it, and so I got a chunky latte. No good.

Boltbus tweaks onboard wifi, good and evil return to balance {Gadling}
Apr 22nd 2008 12:25PM We rode BoltBus from DC to NYC and back this past weekend. Wireless still didn't work for Macs, and the power outlets apparently weren't working as well - we tried 5 different ones with no luck, then gave up and napped.
Our trip to NYC was supposed to get in at 7pm - it was after 8 when we finally arrived, but there was hella traffic between DC and Baltimore. The ride home was right on time.
On the whole, we were pleased with the experience, and hope that the devil in the details will be worked out by next time.
Old Guidebooks? Keep 'em or Ditch 'em? {Gadling}
Aug 26th 2007 8:57AM I tend to ditch the guidebooks unless I plan to visit a place again within 2-3 years. I don't think I've ever thrown a guidebook away - more often than not I will leave it at the hostel where I'm staying when I move on, or give it to a friend who is traveling in the same direction, or give it to my CouchSurfing host for their guidebook/map collection.
That said, I do have a very well-loved copy of a student guidebook for France from my 1996 trip there - my very first trip anywhere EVER without my family. It was magical, and a lot of my memories are tied up in that guidebook, even though I barely used it.
Limited Edition Triple Chocolate Twix reviewed {Slashfood}
Jan 22nd 2007 5:43PM Does anyone else remember Twix's flirtation with cookies and cream? I seem to recall there being other flavors, and I miss them all.
