2011 Movies Preview: 75 Films We Can't Wait to See This Year {Moviefone Blog}
Jan 10th 2011 3:32AM I agree! I just saw the previews. What absolute slop. The dialogue made me cringe. What was Natalie Portman thinking to make this piece of you-know-what.
Hairstyles by Face Shape: The Perfect Haircut for a Heart Face With Straight Hair {Stylelist (Main)}
Oct 30th 2010 12:21AM What really bugs me is older women (and I'm one) with long, gray hair--it gives me the willies! Long hair on anyone over 30 begins to look like they're trying too hard. I agree with the opinion, that the older you get, the better you look with shorter hair. If you--or your mate-like long hair, then find a style you can 'do up' not hang down.
Beating Jet Lag {AOL Travel News}
Oct 7th 2010 11:54AM I go to Paris from Los Angeles twice a year. Usually have to fly to a US hub then overnight to Paris arriving early morning. Takes 2 hours to get into my hotel. I immediately go to bed for 2 hours of solid sleep. Then I take a shower, go for a walk in Luxembourg Gardens, do some like errands, eat a light dinner and go to bed around midnight. The next day I can sightsee, or whatever, all day. The only jet lag I
experience is getting sleepy around 4 pm, or maybe
going to bed early the next night. If I wake at 4 am
I read for awhile.
For me it never works to push myself to stay awake if I need sleep. That's a good way to lower resistance and catch a cold.
On Your Side by Christopher Elliott helps with travel customer service issues {Gadling}
Jul 19th 2010 11:32AM Several years ago I had to cancel a trip to Minneapolis on Northwest because of a very bad cold. I had taken the company's travel insurance for $20 when I booked the ticket. My doctor filled out the claim form and I got a full refund minus the $20....a very good investment. Northwest has since merged with Delta so I don't know how their insurance works, but I booked a mileage ticket to Paris on Delta for November and I signed up for the insurance which would only refund the taxes if I have to cancel...but maybe it would cover the fee to put my mileage back into my account. (I do not plan to cancel!)
5 Toxic Personalities You Should Avoid {Personal Articles}
Apr 5th 2009 1:32AM I definately know a one-upper--finally gave up on her.
Another toxic type is the money-talker. These are people with money and their friends have even more money and that's all they talk about, knowing you have a lot less money and can't possibly move in those circles.

Oscar Noms: Who Was Snubbed? {Cinematical}
Jan 23rd 2007 2:04PM BABEL is almost as bad as CRASH, that totally inferior film that "won" last year...or was it bought?
Just becasue is has a lot of faces in the cast, does that make it a good movie. Both Pitt and especially Blanchette were wasted--unless there was a catagory for "Best Kiss on a Bed Pan."
Paris Too Hardcore for the Japanese? {Gadling}
Oct 29th 2006 6:27PM I live in Los Angeles and I've gone to Paris maybe 20 times. I'm leaving again in a few days for a 2 week stay. I know nobody there; I don't shop; but I LOVE Paris: The museums, the parks, the tennis, the history, the busses, the Metro, the river, and the "days out" to castles and chateaux and more beautiful parks. I'm even looking forward to the bracing November weather and steaming cups of chocolate or espresso at a sidewalk cafe. Who cares if the waiter doen't come right away. He's not "rude," he's French.
If you remember to say, "Bonjour Madame or Monsieur" at the beginning of any request, you will be treated much better than it you blurt out your question. (I learned the hard way!)
May I suggest new travelers to France read up on the cultural difference before you go. Every bookstore is loaded with great, and humerous, stories of the cultural clash. Just look in the Travel Narrative Section.
And remember, French people love Americans, it's the respective governments that have a problem with each other.
