Ten stress-free travel tips for people who hate to travel {Gadling}
Apr 18th 2011 3:32PM I carry a purse with large outside pocket for tickets/passport. Some people hold up the lines,(especially on Cruise ships) because they have to search the bottom of their bags for these items. I also pack an empty(small) suitcase to carry any items I have purchased while on vacation.
I also feel that "huddling" is selfish and uncalled for. Make the proper arrangements when traveling with children so both your family and fellow passengers will enjoy the flight.
Research your excursions - Cruise trip tip {Gadling}
Jan 7th 2011 3:17PM You are so right Michelle. We were on a tour, booked through the ship's shore excursion desk, and it was a good thing. Our bus broke down twice. 1) it over heated then 2) the transmission died. they sent help for us and we arrived 45 min. late and they held the ship for us. We had friends who tried to save money and went on their own while on their vacation and the women made it back from shopping, but the guys missed the ship because their cab broke down. They had to pay for hotel and air fare to the next port of call. It was very expensive, and they wore the same clothing for 48 hrs. The safestest thing is to always book through the ship. Keep cruising.
Christmas Scenes: The 10 Best of All Time {Moviefone Blog}
Dec 25th 2010 6:47PM I Love the 1938 version of Scrooge. It warms my heart when he realizes what he has missed by being nasty. I also love to watch It's a wonderful life. We do touch people every day and don't know it. Just take a moment and think how people have affected your life and you will understand the meaning of this great movie. I wish they would show the 1938 version of Scrooge more often, as it is a classic and Christmas is made a little better by watching this great movie. Happy New Year to all.
How to Get the Biggest Bang for Your Cruise Buck {AOL Travel News}
Sep 24th 2010 10:43PM I have cruised over 10 times on Carnival, Royal Carribean, Costa and Norwegian Cruise Line. I have always used a travel agent. The same agent every time. An agent gets to know you and your likes/dislikes. They will automatically call you when a great deal comes along. Last year we were able to take two cruises because she called us and lhad a one day only special for the second cruise. We took advantage of this and had a wonderful time. Info about shore excursions, we went on an island excursion and our bus broke down, not once, but twice. The tour co. sent another bus to get us back to the ship, but we were 45 min. late. THEY HELD THE SHIP BECAUSE THEY KNEW A TOUR HAD NOT RETURNED. If we had gone on our own, wewould have had to get a hotel room, and air transportation to the next port of call. This wouldv'e been extremely expensive and a major inconvience. Our plane tickets were changed at the last min. and my travel agent was on the phone with us immediately so everything went smoothly. TRY THAT WITH ON-LINE AGENCIES.
HAPPY CRUISING TO EVERYONE
Company Designs Standing-Room Airline Seat, But Are There Buyers? {AOL Travel News}
Sep 10th 2010 7:41PM Gigi, you must be the rude stewardess that was on my last flight. Never smiled,spoke to any passangers and made the passingers feel they were doing you a favor by allowing you to do the job you wanted and trained for.
Everyone who flies, knows that you are supposed to stand after approximately 1 hour in a plane. Maybe you would like circulati9on problems, but most do not.
If you don't like people who are on vacation and want to enjoy themselves while being safe, QUIT. As for passengers who fly for business, they deserve to be treated with respect also, as they fly mor often than vacationers and don't need your attitude to add to the stress of their jobs.
I really don't think you should be in the air. REMEMBER WE PAY YOUR SALARY, you should treat everyone as though we are your boss.
Get over yourself, there are others who want your job in todays job market you should be kissing our a****.
Five Things Airlines Don't Want You to Know {AOL Travel News}
Aug 26th 2010 4:01PM I think AOL in connected to FOX News. They love to tell the public things that 1. they already know or suspect or 2. don't know or care about or 3. will just scare the hell out of people or really set the paranoia over the cliff. Why can't they report something worthwhile and positive for a change. This country is glued to gloom and doom. If you have to get to a destination quickly, flying is the best and safest way to go. Ever think about a rest room on the thruway or other major highway? talk about gross. If you are a germaphobic USE THE ALCOHOL WIPES and get over yourselves. Really, people, germs are everywhere and some are actually good for you as they build up your immune system. Let's just stay real and clean up after ourselves.
Dring closed container beverages has and always will be safer. COMMON SENSE, or that's right, it went out the window with tolerance.
Should Lithium Batteries Be Banned from Flights? {AOL Travel News}
Aug 16th 2010 4:56PM You're right large volt lithiums have not been allowed for some time now. I like the point re: power strips in 1st class and business.
I just want to know why they don't think that the terrorists are smarter than tsa.
Do you worry about subways, trains?
Should Lithium Batteries Be Banned from Flights? {AOL Travel News}
Aug 16th 2010 4:37PM I can't stand it any more either. Are they saying that we can't even pack cameras in the checked luggage. Are they going to charge us $25.00 for each battery we want to take along on vacation or business trip? You are right, there are other ways to travel and a cruise ship will take you almost anywhere for rest and relaxation. You can drive to all the ports, no one NEEDS to fly there. Let them see how life would be if no one flew because of these stupid, rediculous ideas TSA and others keep coming up with. If you are afraid of terrorists being on your plane, stay the hell off the planes.
