In movie theaters everywhere: 'Attack of the Artery-Clogging Popcorn' {Daily Finance}

Nov 22nd 2009 1:53PM It's not about eating Popcorn. It's about Control.We Need the GOVERNMENT to straighten this out. Establish a Popcorn Czar, Staff his office with THOUSANDS of Popcorn Inspectors, and find a way to stamp CALORIE COUNTS ON EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THOSE DIRTY, STINKING, LITTLE KERNELS OF CORN! OH YEAHHH! GO OBAMA!! MORE CZARS!!

Students Lost Maine Gay Marriage Battle, But Not the War {Politics Daily}

Nov 12th 2009 2:20AM People live within Norms, principles of right action binding upon the members of a group and serving to guide, control, or regulate proper and acceptable behavior. In Some societies, marriage of two children that are only one year old is acceptable and legal. Not in America. In other societies, marriage of a man to four women is acceptable and legal. Not in America. In some societies marriage of one woman to more than one man is acceptable and legal. Not in America. In some societies marriage of homosexuals to each other is acceptable and legal. Not in Maine. So say the People of Maine. Live with it, or work to change it. Those are the options. Calling one Group "Fearmongers" and another Group "Queers" only clouds the issue, and is less than constructive. All are valuable Citizens, and all have the right to express their opinion -- and to Vote for a Norm in this Great Republic of America.

Obama at Fort Hood: The Slain Will 'Endure Through the Life of Our Nation' {Politics Daily}

Nov 11th 2009 12:18AM I am a Republican, and I don't like the current Socialistic trends of our Government, but I do say that President Obama's Speech today was very, very good. Semper Fidelis

House Narrowly Passes Historic Health Care Bill {Politics Daily}

Nov 8th 2009 1:54AM They needed 218 Votes. They got 220, just squeaked by on three votes.
For:220; Against: 215. Doesn't really look like a landslide, does it?
Hopefully, the Senate will flush this piece of crap down the terlit, where it belongs...

Teenage girls earn extra cash for college -- as long as they don't get pregnant {Daily Finance}

Nov 1st 2009 11:05AM This sounds like a Great Program, and we need more like it. Women really need that College Education to succeed in today's world. It makes them independent, if need be, and they can make their own way in style. Compare a College Educated woman making $50 K + per year with the uneducated woman with children, scratching to get by, and having to have others help her to even exist. More College Educated, Self Sufficient Women! More Programs like This!

The new Ted Turner misses the old {Daily Finance}

Oct 20th 2009 12:57PM Ted Turner has only $1.8 Billion left?? Consider this: A Millionaire is thought to be fairly well off, able to buy what he wants to, and does not worry much about budgets, where his next meal is coming from, the mortgage, the car payment.. etc. Ted Turner can currently match the collective Bank Accounts of One Thousand, Eight Hundred Millionaires! He hasn't done so poorly afterall, has he?

Obama Pay Czar Plans to Limit Executives' Cash Compensation {Politics Daily}

Oct 6th 2009 12:57PM " Instead of receiving their usual cash salaries, executives will have percentages of their pay transferred into company stock that cannot be cashed in for several years." If they do a good job,and the value of the stock increases, they will make more money. If they do a poor job, and the stock goes down, they will lose money. A REAL INCENTIVE TO SUCCEED!
I'm for it, and I'm a Republican, did not vote for Obama, BUT I LIKE THIS!! REMEMBER, THESE FEW COMPANIES ARE STILL IN BUSINESS BECAUSE OF TAXPAYER MONEY!!

Grim employment numbers stoke investor fears of double dip recession {Daily Finance}

Oct 2nd 2009 2:16PM The Banks just soaked up almost a $Trillion Dollars of Taxpayer Money, with NO accountability, and were asked to help with the Economy. After "Ike" the Hurricane that hit the South Coast, I went to the Bank and asked for a Home Equity Loan. I own my home outright. I own my car outright. I have a fixed income of $50,000 a year. The Bank told me they would be happy to give me a Mortgage $20K lone on my $250K home, and they would only charge me TWELVE (12) PERCENT INTEREST! I get better than that on my credit cards! Sooo, no money for the Carpet Layers, no money for the Roofers, no money for the Landscapers, No money for the Siding Installers, no money for any of the WORKERS that could help the Economy! They are unimployed, and the line is getting longer. I will do the work myself, all that I can, and do without the rest of the repairs... The Banks are trying to GET WELL ASAP, and their position is: to hell with our Economy, just BOOST THEIR BONUSES...

Toyota to recall 3.8 million cars -- largest US recall in its history {Daily Finance}

Sep 29th 2009 11:20PM My Ohio built Honda Accord has a little hole in the driver's
side floor mat, and a strap goes through this hole back to a horizontal rod under the driver's seat. This strap restrains the mat from moving forward. No Problem...
