Jaime Pressley on pregnancy & adoption {ParentDish}
Jul 22nd 2007 11:27AM You people are all selfish!I had 2 terrible pregnancies with all day sickness, nose bleeds, high blood pressure, gestational diabetes and whatever else you can think of. I still loved being pregnant. It is the most amazing thing ever and the end result is worth every moment of sickness and moodiness. There are people out there who cannot have children and that have tried everything just to get pregnant and still cannot. Rather than complaining about it, enjoy it and realize how lucky you are. My first pregnancy was terrible and I had to have IV's due to dehydration from puking my guts out all the time, I was on bed rest for 6 weeks... it was miserable but it certainly didn't stop me from having another.
Kids with pets are less stressed {ParentDish}
Nov 12th 2006 1:18PM We have 2 dogs and a cat. My kids (ages 3 and 6) play with the dogs way more than the cat. To them, the cat is boring. They love to walk the dogs and play with them in the yard. I think kids have more fun with dogs.
How to Sneak into Hotel Pools {Gadling}
Nov 2nd 2006 3:38PM I think it's funny that some of you are commenting on chemicals. The worries would be liability as that is what would cost them the big bucks if someone was hurt or even worse, killed. Chemicals are bought wholesale and they stock up on these items. I worked at a hotel for years. Chlorine is cheap, everyone knows that. The water is tested daily for a PH balance. PH up and PH down are not expensive and not much is needed to adjust the water. So leave the chemicals out, it's liability and the fact that they want the pool to only be used by paying guests... that can afford the hotel.
Smoke-Free Hotel Rooms {Gadling}
Oct 27th 2006 1:49PM In central Wisconsin all restaurants have gone 100% smoke free and the majority of hotels in this area are also 100% smoke free. I think it's wonderful and now I don't have to worry about taking my kids inhaling smoke just by going out to eat. I wouldn't worry about second hand smoke in drapes and carpet killing us but the smell is enough to kill you! I find most smokers very selfish, they don't care if they blow smoke right in a child's face and that is sad. Also makes me sick to see people smoking in their vehicles with children inside. I'm a teacher and I hear other kids complaining about how other kids smell and what they are smelling is nasty second hand smoke all over the other kids clothing. Those poor kids get punished because their parents smoke near them and make their clothing smell terrible.
