'American Idol' Results April 7: Who Was Voted Off? {AOL TV: American Idol}
Apr 8th 2010 11:51AM OMG !! MAXWELL??? Please kids...get a music education. KATE BUSH -- British angel of soaring talent and beauty -- wrote, sang, produced, etc., THIS WOMAN'S WORK, about TWENTY YEARS AGO, when Maxwell was riding a tricycle. The 1980's was the single greatest decade of rock/pop, etc., as it benefitted form teh evolution of the 60's and 70's and then preceeded the formulaic crap of hip-hop and synthetic singing and noise we hear today. Singers sang without computer assistance, they were beautiful, freakish and ugly and the were accompanied by actual instrument playing musicians, and the quality and variety of genres and styles produced in teh 1980's will never, ever be duplicated again. Spend the next few years deeply delving into the 300 or so acts and songs from the 1980's that you need to know and listen to, and then you will be half way to having some real, knowledge of modern music, and you will understand how Maxwell could even sing a song like that -- one he didn't write or perform first.
'American Idol' Results April 7: Who Was Voted Off? {AOL TV: American Idol}
Apr 8th 2010 11:13AM Reading your comments (below: LindaM) I couldn't help but respond... I have heard this "fixed" stuff before, and it really is just silly. They ALL sign a contract. Michael could have been voted off last night and w/ marketing and more, Simon and co. would have produced an album and had him making millions in no time if they choose. The fact that clown from New Orleans w/ gray hair (Taylor Hicks) won a few years ago, and now has no career AT ALL, tells you it is not fixed! People voted for him because they liked him, but he stunk. Its called VOTING. Unfortunately, someone who is great like Michael doesn't get the votes and he's off the show, while someone like Tim who sucks, stays on. Maybe his entire hick county is voting for him repeatedly. Same reason we have an inexperienced diaster of a President right now -- people who vote are frequently doing so for the WRONG REASONS. Lynch is great, and with the right management and song choices he can be a big star, while a few of the others are just too boring and lacking in talent to go anywhere. Bottom line is, the SHOW IS NOT FIXED. They are all under contract and if they have the talent and Simon or the market of consumers and music fans wants to turn them into a star they will get it whether they win or not -- look at Adam Lambert (runner-up) who I think frankly screamed his way through last year's show and sang EVERY song exactly the same with a final screaming crescendo, and that's why he needs makeup, sparkles and all the other nonsense -- not much talent...but the market is making him a star, and yet on AI he didn't get the votes.

What Furniture Do You Sit On? {AOL Hot Searches}
Mar 25th 2009 10:51AM In Miami we have some great contemporary furniture stores. I have never liked antique furniture or anything that looks "heavy" and depressing. However, an old home with quirky features, that is furnished with relatively contemporary pieces is the ultimate juxtaposition to achieve that eclectic look so many designers seek today. While they are expensive as all get-out, the pieces at Williams Sonoma Home stores www.wshome.com are absolutely SPECTACULAR and strike the perfect balance between traditional and contemporary design styles.

AWESOME JOB MAN!
Boston College Tells Jeff Jagodzinski: You're Fired If You Interview for Jets Job {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Jan 5th 2009 11:19AM BC's athletic director is doing a great job. And he is simply saying, "enough is enough. We want a committment, with a committed long term coach." Who knows what Jagodzinski told them to get the job at BC -- perhaps something like, "I intend to work here for years, raise my kids here and be a part of this fine institution for hopefully decades to come, as long as BC is willing to make a commitment to me and my family." And then he turns around and plays the recruit-a-coach, stepping-stone game. Who knows? But having said that, Boston College has a Division 1 hockey team that has gone to the national championship game about 6 times in the last eight years and won three national championships in that eight year period, I believe.... and then you've got the men's b-ball team which beat #1 UNC yesterday, and has been consistently and highly copmpetitive with several sweet 16 and final eight appearances in the past 20 years and then the football team has been in bowl games for about 15 years straight and has an outstanding record of achievement over the last twenty years, with no rapists, drug dealers, murderers or other problem recruits and a record of high academic achievement, on par with pretty much only Stanford, Notre Dame and a couple of other Div 1schools -- all of which says they MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT!
MNF's Kornheiser Drops Offensive Spanish Line During Hispanic Heritage Month {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Sep 16th 2008 1:11PM By the way....SHANE....and the rest of you wusses actually offended by Kornheiser's errr "comments".....When you create an atmosphere of such stringent, unbending, straight-jacketed rules for free speech in the name of sensitivity and political correctness you have created a society where FASCISM is the rule. Liberalism and liberal politics gave rise to the PC movement and all these "rules" about what is acceptable speech...and while the very definition of the word "liberal" is something to aspire to, what the liberal movement has become in our modern time is something much more toxic and totally fascist in practice.

Sep 16th 2008 1:05PM OHH PUUUHLEEEZE You knee-jerk little wuss Shane Bacon - cut the CRAP! What a bunch of nonsense! And meanwhile, BLACK man Mike Tirico kept referring to DeSean Jackson and his play releasing the ball at the goal-line, as a "BONEHEAD," or a "BONEHEADED PLAY." Well, he said it about 5 times and once upon a time that -- bonehead -- was considered a racial epithet ! Get over it all you little liberal PC wusses. Go eat a cracker

Report: Andy Reid Close to Leaving Sideline {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Oct 3rd 2007 2:21PM Enrico Campitelli jr writes: "One thing I believe it would mean is that Andy doesn't have a lot of faith in this team. He's not the only one! It's not like Big Red to take his ball and go home when things aren't going his way."
What a mindless, juvenile tool you are Enrico. How the hell did u get this little blog gig anyway? Yeah, the guy has enough money, and the GAME of football is far less important than his responsibilities as father to a couple of seriously misguided sons right now. Besides, NOBODY, including the Eagles has a freakin chance in hell against the Pats anyway.
Mexico Named Best Place To Retire {Gadling}
Oct 2nd 2007 8:54AM This is AMERICA ONLINE, so I will assume this blog largely elicits responses from Americans. What a bunch of garbage this story is! This piece was written with vacation goggles on! Okay, so what do you do when you want to buy supplies for your hobby? Food shopping in a bright, clean supermarket with food from all over the world like we have at Whole Foods or even Publix? Air conditioned malls with ample parking and great stores? Movie cinemas, hospitals, dentists, doctors,etc.? After you visit the beach 100 times or so, play golf at the courses you can afford on your retirement, and start treating your skin cancer, there's little else to do. Spain (where all the Brits and others have been buying and building throughout Andalusia) is beautiful, so is France, but again, very expensive with the Euro @ 1.42 vs. the $, so your retirement funds will run out more quickly, and again, even though we are technically talking FIRST world countries as opposed to Mexico, we are still NOT talking US level conveniences that we Americans take for granted far too easily thanks to our idealistic Lefty media outlets knocking the US all the time -- like AOL. Bottom Line, retire in Florida, Arizona, Calif, Nevada, etc., volunteer with kids schools and day cares or anyplace else, retain the access you take for granted to so many plentiful and vital services and travel to Mexico, Spain etc., have a blast but see the forest through the trees.
