Ad Rant: Is Al Franken trying to kill off the nightly news? {WalletPop}
Oct 24th 2009 12:14AM The quality of t News reporting has dropped like a rock. That stupid "balloon boy" hoax received more coverage than any other story this past week. The executives that choose what stories get aired have their priorities way out of whack. I am fed up with the "see your doctor-call your doctor-check with your doctor" commercials. The Pharmaceutical makers are dreaming up maladies just to make pills for and many of the pills have worse side effects than the malady being treated. The ads for erectile dysfunction have forced many parents to stop allowing their children to watch the news. Those ads are offensive, at best. The News is driven by the same thing everything else on television is driven by: MONEY. All else is secondary. Good taste and common decency have vanished.
GM CEO Henderson: Getting a raise despite the pay czar's cuts {Daily Finance}
Oct 23rd 2009 11:55PM Those stocks won't be worth much when GM takes a permanent nose-dive....which is richly deserved. I, for one, will NEVER BUY A GM PRODUCT.
Home Depot puts an eco-friendly twist on trade-ins for holiday shopping {Daily Finance}
Oct 23rd 2009 11:50PM Battery-powered drills, saws, etc. are very convenient and they have been greatly improved over the years; however, they are not "eco-friendly" when most people dump the old batteries in the trash. They are really a bad buy for occasional use. Stick with a good quality plug-in electric drill. There are no batteries to wear out, plenty of power, and VERY long-lasting. You can buy an excellent electric drill for much less than most high-end cordless drills cost.
Phone-hacking fashion flack used free software to spy on ex's lover {Daily Finance}
Oct 21st 2009 8:49PM Apparently she is a bit low on self-confidence, self esteem, morals, respect for the privacy of others......or wacko. Spy software should only be available to law enforcement agencies.
Watch: Elisabeth Hasselbeck's 'View' of Her Nipple Slip {Popeater}
Oct 19th 2009 4:22PM I suspect the fuss is all about the never-ending goal of more publicity for herself and the show. Breasts & nipples are pretty common, after all.
Fake coins flooding in U.S. market {WalletPop}
Oct 14th 2009 9:53PM Chinese fakes aren't the only scams to watch out for. Tune in any coin shopping program on cable/satellite TV. Those slick con artists put used car salesmen to shame....convincing suckers that the common crap they want to unload is the biggest bargain ever. Littleton Coin (mail order) has been doing it for many years and laughing all the way to the bank.
Couple Lives in Flood Tunnels Under Las Vegas {Asylum}
Oct 12th 2009 8:22PM Many people make really DUMB decisions. I suppose it is one effective way to avoid paying taxes, but they will pay a very heavy price for their chosen lifestyle. That is inevitable.
Eric Braeden Leaving 'The Young and the Restless' {Inside TV Blog}
Oct 10th 2009 10:19PM Any actor who has been steadily employed as long as he was should be very grateful. He has NOTHING to complain about.
Does DeLay's Departure Leave 'Dancing' Even More Desperate for Ratings? {AOL TV: Dancing with the Stars}
Oct 9th 2009 3:32PM Here are some ways to improve the show: 1. Dump Tom Bergeron and get a host qualified for the job (former pro dancer). 2. Tell Samantha Harris to dress better and stop showing off her little boobs. 3. Replace the grouch judge Len Goodman. 4. Have more pro dancing routines. 5. Stop getting contestants who cannot dance and have no chance at all, such as; people over 40 and former football players, boxers and assorted brutes. 6. Stop dragging out the "safe couples" and eliminated couples routine. It's boring.....get on with it! 7. Elimate the 2-hours, back-to-back shows. That's too much over-kill.
Saturn dealers approach the end of the road {Daily Finance}
Oct 9th 2009 12:00PM Boo-hoo. If you link up with a loser.....you will lose. Saturn was an unnecessary line from the beginning and never became successful. Just another in a long line of bad decisions by GM management. Watch them self-destruct, and deservedly so. Buy a FORD product.
