Nov 24th 2010 11:45AM I am 66 years old and I was sexually abused by a trusted person when I was about 6 years old. It was a Doctor at a clinic and he did things that were not part of any type of eye exam, but of course a 6 year old doesn't know that. It has bothered me most of my adult life and now I have to be abused again buy someone I don't know, but should trust? I have a implanted pacemaker/diffibulater and can't go through metal detectors. The TSA and the rule makers have no idea of who is out there and what personal situations these procedures affect. Also I know people that are transgender and a pat down or fullbody scan would be very insulting. There has to be better ways. I can't easily drive to see my kids, 2200 miles each way.

Sep 29th 2010 1:24PM Dave: Please examine what the issue is. Gender identity does not always mean a boy is a boy and a girl is a girl. The physical and mental issues are far more complex than the vast majority understand. Allowing someone to be who they are should be accepted without interference.

Sep 29th 2010 1:16PM I can agree with some of your statements but we as supporters of GLBT rights must be stronger and not attack with name calling. Stay at a highter level and educate and inform with knowledge of the adverse issues.

Sep 29th 2010 1:09PM The school knew who he was, the teachers knew who he was and fortunate he did also. So if this is a student vote then let it be, the administration should have no say in the outcome. Equality of who a person is should be just that-----Equality. Discrimination is not acceptable.

Jul 28th 2010 2:21PM Parents don't parent anymore, they drop their kids a day care, a movie, or some club typeactivity rather than taking care of them selves. I always watched over my children and they never had problems. Be involved. I would't think of sending a 9 year old alone in this day and with the knowledge of the strange people that wander through life. I sent my sons to Space Academy on a monotered flight when theyt were 13 and 16. Would never have done it at a younger age. Some people just don't think. You are a parent act like one.
