Police haul HBO executive, husband off Delta Airlines flight {Gadling}
Jan 29th 2009 6:01PM Their lawyer needs to listen to himself and tell his clients what THEY did was "Ghastly and unnecessary."
The FA does not know what those morons do for a living, nor does she care. She does have a list with their names, seat numbers, frequent flyer status and any special requests (special meals, need of a wheelchair etc) Those morons are going to spend lots of their money making that lawyer rich because no jury, rightfully so, will ever give them a dime. Just another example of money can't buy class. They should be happy they weren't sent to jail. It could have been justified in this case. What they don't know, but will find out later is, they will now be on the "don't fly list." It's going to be interesting next time they go to the airport! They actually will be able to fly, but they'll have to endure all but a full body cavity search.
October Surprise #2: Whitey Tape Revealed {Politics Daily}
Oct 31st 2008 9:45AM I'm OFFENDED! Let's call all our white leaders and have news conferences on all the world news programs and condemn this blatant racism!!! Lets call a special session of Congress to pass race hate laws! (oh wait, thats already been done, except only whites can be convicted of hate laws, not blacks) We want our Miss white America. Where's my White Entertainment Network television reporters on this? Oh wait, we can't have that? Why not? Hmmm... let me see... whats the definition of double standard? Black folks, listen up, thats the way we feel! In my experience, blacks are WAY MORE RACIST THAN WHITES EVER WERE!!! Racism goes both ways, but it seems its OK for the blacks to make fun of whites, but God forbid, and Jessie and Al come out of the woodwork when its even THOUGHT that a white would utter a word against a black. What a crock. Don't you realize those two bozo's wouldn't even have a job if they couldn't convince you you were still slaves? Grow up and come into the 21st century. Nobody owes you squat!
Bombs away! Air Force F-16 drops a dummy bomb on the Las Vegas strip {Gadling}
Oct 20th 2008 4:59PM At least he hit a truck! Sounds to me he was a pretty good pilot. Now send him to Afghanistan and have him find Bin Laden's truck, but use a bigger bomb this time.
AOL Straw Poll: Sept. 25-Oct. 2 {Politics Daily}
Sep 26th 2008 7:25PM Obama is what we like to call a "Post Turtle." Picture yourself driving down a country road, a long fence down the side of the road. You see sitting on top of one of the fence posts is a turtle. You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't have a clue what to do up there and you really have to wonder about the @#$%&$*& who put him up there!
Wheelchair on plane explodes on landing {Gadling}
Sep 25th 2008 10:21AM I've had many a pilot tell me they're not completely sure cell phones don't interfere with navigational equipment. So, as a group they, and any passenger concerned with safety don't want cell phone use on flights. As an aside, the LAST thing I want is to sit in the middle seat between 2 self-important #&^@**&$ yapping on their cell phones for 2 hours. Talk about air rage! That would be justifiable homicide! Anyway, phones have been available on aircraft for 25 years but they were an abject failure. Why? Because at $6.95 to turn on and $6.95 a minute thereafter, those stupid conversations seem to lose their importance! No wonder 80% of the world is on Prozak. Everyone thinks they have to WORK 24/7. Take the time to relax and look out the window, enjoy life, read a light book. Believe me, when you drop dead, some one else will be doing your job better before you're cold. The world and your job will continue to revolve. No one else thinks you're as important as you do. Relax. Life is hectic enough at the airport, don't contribute to the craziness.
Wheelchair on plane explodes on landing {Gadling}
Sep 25th 2008 9:49AM Depends on what kind of battery was on the wheelchair. 99% of chairs/scooters today have sealed batteries. If the chair can be loaded and left upright in the bin, it is only cut off with the switch. If it can not be loaded upright (very rare, as bags would be left off just to make sure it can be stored upright) the battery container is removed. A chair with a wet-cell battery has to have the battery removed, all connections clearly marked and then the battery is put into a special bag and then into a special box. The risk of fire is bad enough but the real concern is aircraft aluminum and battery acid are a really bad match. Causes structural problems and poisonous fumes. They should be really careful as the airline is on the hook for all damages to a wheelchair, up to and including full replacement, whatever the cost.
Packing Tips: Tried and True {Gadling}
Jul 16th 2008 11:32PM I'm not trying to dictate what you carry, just asking for a little common sense, which anymore seems to be all too uncommon with the travelling public. As for baggage pilferage, it unfortunately does happen, BUT, I can assure you, 99.95% of lost items from luggage is from overstuffed luggage popping open, broken zippers, zippers/latches not closed by the passenger which we don't have the time to close, worn out/broken luggage etc, etc, Things completely out of our control! You wouldn't believe the stuff laying around in the aircraft bins, cell phones, jewelery, cameras, I-pods, valuable things which with over 100 bags in the bin, we have no clue which one it came out of. We turn them into lost and found at the Police Dept. But of course, it's just too easy to blame the baggage handlers. Very, very few are thieves like your friend! Think about it, little man, the very LAST thing we want to do is reach into a bag full of dirty underwear!!
Packing Tips: Tried and True {Gadling}
Jul 16th 2008 2:30PM You and others like you should be made to work as a luggage handler for 1 day in August in Phoenix! (Or any other airport at 100 degrees, no shade, and a 700 degree APU blowing at you)Morons like you would then learn you don't have to bring the kitchen sink and the rest of the house with you every time. IF THE BAG IS HEAVY FOR YOU... TRY HANDLING ABOUT 2000 MORE JUST LIKE IT. DON'T PACK 7 DAYS OF CRAP FOR A 2 DAY TRIP!! Next time, pack what you THINK you need, walk around with it 4 hours, then take all the junk you DON'T need out, walk around another 4 hours again, and take more out and it'll be just about right. Better yet, since you probably aren't going to take my advice, GO GREYHOUND!
Passenger lights cigarette, punches flight attendant and diverts flight to Denver {Gadling}
Jun 19th 2008 5:34PM FYI - Undercover agents are NOT on every flight every day. Think how many agents that would take. And you can rest assured, when she does get out of prison... she will be on a worldwide no-fly list. She'll be very lucky if she will even be allowed on a Greyhound.
